The National Art Gallery of The Bahamas (NAGB) is extremely pleased to be unveiling, on Wednesday, July 30 at 7 p.m., a long overdue retrospective of the Minnis family painters. Entitled “Creation’s Grace,” the show will include works from Eddie Minnis, from as early as 1965 up to today; from his two daughters, Nicole and Roshanne; as well as from his son-in-law, Ritchie Eyma. Many of the 160+ works are being loaned to us from private collections throughout Nassau and The Family Islands, thus allowing the audience to view works that have not been seen for many years and giving us a glimpse of the development of each artist’s practice over time.

On Wednesday evening, prior to the opening, Roshanne Minnis-Eyma and Ritchie Eyma will be guests on our radio show “Blank Canvas” (airing on 96.9 fm Guardian Talk radio at 6:30 p.m.); while on August 20th Mr. Eddie Minnis will be my guest, so please tune in for insights into their work and their life’s practise. All four artists will be present at the opening on Wednesday, July 30th from 7 p.m. – 9 p.m. Please come out and join us!

The Bahamian Free Sunday falls on August 17th this month, so if you cannot make the opening please come and view the exhibition at that time!
