Arabian Center now qualifies for the ‘Albert Sussman International Community Support Award’- the highest accolade given by ICSC Foundation.

The mall is now a part of 13 regional finalists from around the world, who will compete for the International Title in Las Vegas in the first half of 2017.

In recognition of its efforts towards contribution to the community, Arabian Center was honoured with the ‘Community Support Award’ for its ‘Tree of Life’ initiative by International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) at the recently held RECon MENA– one of the region’s most leading retail industry events. Held on November 1st at Ritz Carlton Hotel, Arabian Center is the proud single winner in the region honoured with this title. Arabian Center was also awarded the title from the MENA region.

As the sole winner of the regional award, Arabian Center has now qualified for the ‘Albert Sussman International Community Support Award’ which is the highest accolade given by the ICSC Foundation to any retailer or shopping center anywhere in the world. The mall is now a part of 13 regional finalists from around the world, who will compete for the International Title in Las Vegas in the first half of 2017.

ICSC is the global trade association of the shopping center industry. It’s more than 70,000 members in over 100 countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, retailers and brokers, as well as academics and public officials. As the global industry trade association, ICSC links with more than 25 national and regional shopping center councils throughout the world. ICSC’s global foundation award recognizes excellence and community outreach efforts within the region’s shopping center industry. Each year, the award celebrates innovative retailers and shopping centres for their outstanding achievement in retail and marketing.

Arabian Center was honoured with the ‘Community Support Award’ for its ‘Tree of Life’ initiative which was designed to improve the lives of the underpriveliged communities. The mall also won a ‘Silver Award’ for its ‘Tree of Life’ campaign under the ‘Community Social Responsibility’ category; at the MECSC Award ceremony for the MENA region. The awards affirm the company’s dominance in the regional and international markets covering various standards of the international shopping center industry.

Arabian Center has always played an active role in promoting its CSR activities in the region through its socially acceptable campaigns. Long recognised as a CSR leader within the retail industry, Arabian Center’s Tree of Life campaign was an effort to provide steady support towards improving the lives of the underprivileged.

Jointly organised by the Middle East Council of Shopping Centres (MECSC) and the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), RECon Middle East & North Africa 2016, brought together several shopping centre industry professionals, retailers, management and consulting companies, architects, design companies, entertainment and leisure companies, as well as product and service providers to the industry.

A total of 118 entries, comprising major public and private entities and small and medium enterprises from the Middle East and North Africa region joined this year’s competition. The nominees competed in 22 categories and were composed of leading players from the retail sector.
