Renowned food critic, Charles Campion, and chef-director of Balloo Inns, Danny Millar, are amongst the fabulous foodies that will feature as part of the special Loaves and Fishes event on Sunday 9 and Monday 10 October in Ballywalter.

A collaboration between main sponsor Ards and North Down Borough Council, Seafish and FoodNI, and part of Seafood Week 2016, the Loaves and the Fishes will be held at Ballywalter Park, the ancestral home of Lord and Lady Dunleath.

The Loaves and the Fishes event programme includes master classes in local seafood cuisine and traditional bread making delivered by chefs of international repute.

This unique event is aimed at both catering professionals and the public and will also provide an opportunity to meet with thirty two of our best local artisan producers, watch world class chefs at work and take tours of the Walled Garden at Ballywalter.

On Monday, students from colleges across Northern Ireland will compete in a Student Seafood Masterchef Competition, judged by Charles Campion of Masterchef fame.

Food critic Charles Campion is looking forward to being involved in the local event.  He commented: “Northern Ireland is a very interesting place with all sectors of food and drink punching above their weight; there is really good food and drink to be had.”

Loaves and Fishes takes place on Sunday 9 and Monday 10 October from 12 noon until 5pm at Ballywalter Park.
