Automate and Manage F5 BIG-IP® with AppViewX

AppViewX and F5 Networks Joint Solution

AppViewX and F5 share a common mission to provide the most reliable application delivery systems to organizations. AppViewX ADC+ and Cert+ solutions fully integrate with BIG-IP® LTMs and GTMs, ASMs, Viprions (compatible with v9, v10, v11 and the latest v12). The solution allows users to centrally manage F5 BIG-IP® devices across data centers. AppViewX bridges the gap between application owners and network administrators with an application-specific view and control over F5 Application Delivery Networks.

Solution Highlights

Centralized GTM and LTM Management

AppViewX brings an application centric visibility and simultaneously gives control over the LTMs and GTMs across all data centers. This allows the user to add, remove, create and delete pools and whole lot of capabilities. AppViewX compliments BIG-IQ® and Enterprise Manager with its advanced capabilities.

Automate Application Deployment

Centralized work-flow based design deployment brings a high level of automation and change management resulting a reduction of 70% in configuration errors. AppViewX allows users to create templates that are built on top of F5 configurations to create a VIP or a Wide IP. Users can select templates and fill in the form details after which AppViewX takes care of the implementation process, bringing in a high level of automation while simultaneously decreasing manual intervention. Users can also create DNS entries and generate Free IPs with a single click through integrations with DNS management systems and IPAM systems

Role Based Access Control

AppViewX’s superior self-servicing capabilities empowers application infrastructure management through a granular object level role based access control. The RBAC also allows users to define multiple roles that can be used for creating configuration changes, approving and implementing the changes.

End-to-End Certificate Lifecycle Management

AppViewX enables to discover and manage certificates across your F5 load balancers as well as those on application servers, web servers and proxy servers. Apart from providing alerts on the validity, it also facilitates renewal of certificates and the capability to push it to the end devices, thereby taking care of the lifecycle of certificate(s).

Advanced BIG-IP® Device Management

AppViewX allows you to seamlessly add and manage BIG-IP LTMs, GTMs and ADC devices from different vendors simultaneously while providing advanced inventory functionalities including backup and restore, both, at a device level and an object level. Patch upgrades and version upgrades can be done on multiple devices using a single solution.

Real Time Alerting and Reporting

Custom alerts like threshold alerts, certificate validity alerts, device alerts and application health alerts allow quick responses and risk elimination of outages at various levels through e-mail alerts and SNMP traps. The statistics heat map gives the complete device details and the custom dashboard widgets allows to monitor the mission critical applications on your BIG-IP.
