Event Description:

Tobi (teaching oriented bio-inspired) Robot is a walking robot with four legs developed out of Kodlab. The DM&D is hosting an open house for Tobi. Robotic researchers and the artist in residence from Kodlab team up to guide you through a unique workshop where you can create a physically programmable performative art gesture for Tobi. Tobi in the House is where you want to be... to see where performance art meets robotics... to learn about engineering and computer science. This is not to be missed! Space is limited, so please sign up!

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Kodlab is a subsidiary of GRASP (General Robotics, Automation, Sensing and Perception) Laboratory at Penn Engineering. Kodlab is a locomotion-centric component of the GRASP lab focused on legged robots. At present there are four fully functional copies of the XRHex hexapedal robot, one lighter version (XRL), and a variety of experimental legged systems in various partial states of redesign, rebuilding or completion.
