Event Description:
This most spectacular Mount Olympus themed show will be presented on Thursday March 27, Friday March 28, and Saturday March 29 at 7PM. The ticket prices will be $10 for students, $15 dollars for adults, and $20 dollars for reserved.
This year's show is just as its title reads: epic. In famous Greek works like the Illiad and Odyssey, human protagonists watched in awe as the gods performed extraordinary acts, beyond the capabilities of any man. This years show features a cast and crew of high school students that are ready to do the extraordinary: to go beyond the concept of a typical high school talent show and create an exciting, emotional, hilarious, and inspiring experience for their audience.
AN EPIC features Whitman staples such as Drumline and Poms, as well as an fabulous collection of musical performances - featuring songs from an array of artists, ranging from Queen to Radiohead to recent Super Bowl performer Bruno Mars.
Skits will follow a rag-tag bunch of Whitman students as they watch their school turn into its own type of Mount Olympus. Embarrassing teacher cameos, witty satire, and hilarious pop culture spinoffs are to be expected.
The Walt Whitman Talent Show is one of Whitman's most consistently impressive and well-attended events. The show has dazzled the Whitman community for over two decades, and this years participants are working to make it the best one ever.
