Event Description:

The Omega Showboat docks at the newly remodeled  Hotel Eleganté, 2886 S Circle Dr, Colorado Springs, CO, 80906 on Saturday evening, October 19, 2013 at 6 PM.  Brothers of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Chapter located in New York City created the original Omega Showboat as a talent show for adults in the 1930s, and continued to sponsor it into the 1940s as a fundraising event with proceeds used to assist young men and women pursuing their collegiate education.

The Brothers of the Xi Pi (pronounced “zye pie”) Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity revived the Omega Showboat Talent Extravaganza in Colorado Springs in Nov. 2003 with the same noble intentions and goals as their NYC forerunners. The upcoming event on Saturday, October 19th represents the 11th annual program, and will showcase the very best talented musicians, entertainers, stage performers and diverse acts along the Front Range from Denver to Pueblo.

The Xi Pi Chapter executes its charitable activities through its Uplift Foundation, an Internal Revenue Code Section 501(C)(3) tax-exempt charity incorporated in the state of Colorado; EIN: 02-0678151. The Uplift Foundation sponsors an annual Golf Tournament in June and the Omega Showboat in the fall.  Since the Omega Showboat’s inception in 2003, the Uplift Foundation has awarded over $50,000 to local graduating high school seniors pursuing college degrees.

The Men of Omega have expertly blended an evening of outstanding value and entertainment for their guests, who may be able to deduct a portion of their $35 ticket costs as a charitable donation. Every patron will receive a professionally printed souvenir journal featuring local corporate and business sponsors’ advertisements. Most importantly, supporters know that 100% of their ticket fee or sponsorship ad will be invested in the worthy cause of funding scholarships for deserving local students.
