Event Description:

Shy Englishman, Charlie Baker has a hard time speaking to strangers.  To help him out, his gregarious friend “Froggy” LeSueur tells the residents of a rural fishing lodge that Charlie is a foreigner who doesn’t understand English.  Assuming their secrets are safe, chaos ensues when Charlie overhears dastardly plots involving the residents of the lodge. Hailed as "a charming comedy about the magic of kindness" by Chicago Theater Beat, The Foreigner is chock full of hilarious slapstick and witty wordplay.

The Foreigner will be produced in Austin Playhouse's temporary theatre at Highland Mall. The South Entrance (by the Image clothing store) is closest to the theatre.

We do not recommend parking in the main lot off Airport Blvd. From the South entrance, proceed down the escalator and turn right. Austin Playhouse will be on your right by the water feature. Detailed directions are available on our website: http://austinplayhouse.com/season/tempfac.html

The Foreigner stars Austin Playhouse Acting Company members Stephen Mercantel (Ellard Simms), Jason Newman (Rev. David Marshall Lee), Lara Toner (Catherine Simms), David Stahl (Charlie Baker), Michael Stuart (“Froggy” LeSueur), and Cyndi Williams (Betty Meeks), with Lowell Bartholomee (Owen Musser).

Direction by Don Toner, lighting design by Don Day, sound design by Joel Mercado-See.
