ABOUT

On Thursday 21st of May, the team at CameraPro got together with the Reps from Canon, Fuji, Olympus and Sony, to raise some much needed funds to assist Oxfam with the immediate relief and longterm recovery of Nepal.

Due to the overwhelming response of people who wanted to attend but were not able to make the Thursday afternoon timeslot, we have decided to run another Fundraising Photo Walk. We would love it if you could join us on this walk, as we once again grab some gear and team up with a few of our big brand reps, to hit the streets of Brisbane.

OXFAM

If you're not familiar, Oxfam was founded in 1942 and is an international confederation of 17 organisations, working in about 94 countries presently. They exist to find solutions to poverty and social injustice, and the ultimate goal is to enable people to exercise their rights and manage their own lives. Oxfam works directly with communities in many essential ways, such as ensuring the supply of fresh water, medical supplies and education materials.

In response to the recent disaster in Nepal, Oxfam teams are currently providing basic lifesaving essentials like clean water, sanitation and emergency shelter, in order to prevent secondary disasters, such as disease outbreak.

Oxfam spends at least 90% of funds raised from emergency appeals like the Nepal Earthquake Emergence Appeal, on their emergency response.
