Mangilao, Guam – PXC 44 on June 27th, feature a welterweight title bout and 9 other international bouts. The 10-fight event showcases international talent from around the region.

Welterweight Title up for grabs

The welterweight title, once held by Lim Hyun Gyu, will be on the line. Josh Calvo and Zebaztian Kadestam will put their undefeated PXC records on the line at PXC 44. Calvo is coming off a victory versus Anthony Torres and Kadestam looks to continue his streak of finishing his opponents.

Top MMA fighters from Philippines make Guam debut

Former PXC Bantamweight champion Crisanto Pitpitunge and fellow Lakay team member Troy Bantiag will compete for the first time outside of their native Philippines. Team Lakay is widely regarded as the strongest and most decorated MMA camp in all of the Philippines. Pitpitunge will face Josh Duenas of Saipan in a flyweight bout (125.) Bantiag has been a formidable opponent for many in the PXC bantamweight division. He faces Guam’s Kyle Aguon in a bantamweight bout (135) with future title implications. Also, highly regarded Phil-Am wrestler Josh Sapinoso will be making his pro MMA debut against Kyle Reyes at featherweight (145). Sapinoso boasts strong wrestling credentials and an undefeated amateur MMA record. Reyes is coming off of a decision loss to Yusuke Yachi at PXC 42.

3 fighters to represent Saipan at PXC 44

Three PXC veterans from Trench Tech in Saipan, will return to the cage on June 27th. Mark Nuique returns after an 18 month hiatus and faces Guam’s McKlane Alfred in a flyweight bout (125). Crowd favorite and top lightweight contender Frank Camacho takes on Japanese submission ace Chuji Kato. Camacho has claimed victories in his last 3 appearances over high level competition while Kato has never tasted defeat. As mentioned earlier, Saipan’s Josh Duenas makes his return to the Terrordome against the highly touted Lakay fighter Crisanto Pitpitunge.

Top fighters from Asia eager to showcase their skills

Korean Top Team’s Han Seul Kim looks to entertain fans when he faces Eric Michael Fought of Japan at welterweight (170). Kim, known as “Baby Lim”, fights very similar to his KTT training partner and UFC veteran, and former PXC welterweight champion Lim Hyun Gyu. Eric Michael Fought boasts a very impressive record after years of fighting in the Japanese pro circuit, and looks to bring that success to the PXC.

Two female fighters look to develop women’s strawweight division

Cortney Casey and Tomo Maesawa will face off at 115 pounds in the women’s division. A victory should set the winner up with a future showdown against fan favorite Kailin Curran. Casey has a pro record of 1-1 but is well respected due to her amateur experience. Maesawa is coming off a victory last month in Jewels.
