New Delhi: Indian shuttlers, led by Rio Olympics silver medallist PV Sindhu, will begin their challenge today in the Hong Kong Open Super Series Badminton tournament.

After winning the Super Series Premier title at the China Open on Sunday, Sindhu will be eying to come up with another good performance to qualify for next month’s Dubai World Super Series Finals.

In the women’s singles main draw, Sindhu will open her campaign against Indonesia’s Susanto Yosephin, while Saina Nehwal, who recently recovered from a knee injury, will face Thailand’s Porntip Buranaprasertsuk. Saina fifth seeded was stunned by the Thai in the first round in the China Open, last week.

In the men’s singles event, Ajay Jayaram, HS Prannoy, Sai Praneeth and Sameer Verma will be seen in the first round action today.

In men’s doubles event, Indian pair of Mannu Attri and Sumeeth Reddy will be taking on Korean pair of Solgyu Choi and Sung Hyun in the first round today.
