Agra : DISA India in order to educate foundrymen of Agra organised a comprehensive seminar at Wyndham Grand hotel, Agra on September 5, 2013. This session was conducted by Mr. Viraj Naidu, Managing Director, Mr. Satyanarayana VN, Vice President (Foundry-Sales) and Mr. Prashant Kachru, Head- Sales (west) of DISA India Limited.

Over 90% of the foundry operations in Agra are manual and the production ranges from 40- 150 tonnes in a month. Agra is an important industry for Foundry as a wide range of castings for many sectors are manufactured here. The aim of the symposium was to educate Agra based foundry owners on various benefits of mechanised moulding solutions.

“Agra is a very important market which needs awareness about machine moulding and various other mechanised solutions to improve their current foundry situations.  They also need to cope with the Government restrictions on air pollution due to the world heritage “Taj mahal”. As a leading equipment manufacturer for foundry equipment, DISA is committed to support the foundry business to make their foundry clean.” said Mr. Viraj Naidu,  Managing Director, DISA India Limited

Commenting at the event Mr. Satyanarayana V N, Vice President (Foundry-sales), DISA India Limited  said “we visited almost all major foundries in Agra to understand the current need and challenges and I can say that Agra is no different from other foundry belts. They may be conservative in taking actions on mechanised solutions but it is overwhelming to see their participation and interest towards the subject. The common problems like high casting rejection rates, dependence on skilled moulders, local and migrant labours, productivity improvement, power consumption etc., are faced by all foundries and we will do our best to ensure they get the best solutions to overcome their current situations.”

The symposium was an overwhelming success with over 80 foundrymen from 50 Agra based foundries to witness the same.

DISA is extremely supportive of such symposiums and is proud to be associated with the same. Earlier this year, DISA in association with the Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF) – Rajkot chapter, organised a technical session on “Upgrading foundries to meet OEM requirements” at Rajkot. DISA will continue to educate various stakeholders in this industry for the better quality and growth of the same.
