Cale Goloritzé, Sardinia, Italy
It’s no secret that Cale Goloritzé, located at the base of a ravine on Sardinia’s north-eastern coast, is one of the most beautiful beaches in Italy. Yes this beach has white sand and blue water between rising cliffs- It was made a UNESCO site in 1995.
Cala Macarella, Menorca, Spain
Located on the sun-bleached southwestern coast of Menorca, the tranquil Cala Macarella is the ideal escape from the touristy beaches in Mallorca and Ibiza. To be honest getting there is not easy, it’s a ‘trek’- either hike along the cliffs for two miles, or drive on a rough and zigzagging road and then hike an additional 20 minutes through a pine forest to get there. It’s worth the trek with its lavishing fine sand and calm waters.
Navagio Beach, Zakynthos Island, Greece
The most beautiful stretch of sand in Greece. It’s sheltered by sheer limestone cliffs and of course this incredible beach is only accessible by boat. While you can spend all day sunning on its powdery sands, you’re truly captivated by the scenery.
Balos Beach and Lagoon, Crete
Crete hasn’t hit the tourist market yet, enjoy its traditional and cultural foods, drinks and dancing. Why not spend the day in one of the best beaches in Greece. Surround yourself in white (and up close, pink) sand, with shallow pools of saltwater, making for a beautiful, secluded spot.
Virgin Island’s Creek (Île Vierge), Brittany, France
Brittany’s Crozon Peninsula isn’t just a beautiful beach but it offers peacefulness. Virgin Islands Creek, with electric blue water, holds its own against any beach on the Riviera. Additionally, its dramatic location- makes it perfect to take photos for your Europe album!
Zlatni Rat, Brač, Croatia
Zlanti Rat stands out for its striking and unusual shape (which actually changes depending on the current). It’s made up of smooth, tiny pebbles and stretches out for half a mile on either side of the tip. It’s not just a pretty face, though: Zlatni Rat is a great spot for windsurfing, jet-skiing and stand-up paddle boarding.
Praia da Marinha, Algarve, Portugal
Praia da Marinha beach in Portugal is one of the best place to take photographs. This beach is significantly attractive by its golden sand, turquoise waters and rocky limestone outcrops. The beach is popular among families thanks to its sea caves and rock pools, and the clear and calm waters makes it perfect for snorkelling & swimming.
Myrtos Beach, Kefalonia, Greece
Though all the beaches on the Ionian island of Kefalonia are beautiful, Myrtos is arguably the fairest of them all. Its sand is so white that it’s practically iridescent, and its water is so blue you almost have to see it to believe it. Throw in a killer sunset every night, and you’ve got the most Instagrammable beach in Europe (no filter needed).
Isola Bella, Sicily
Toarmina is at 210 meters above the sea level. The coastline directly below Taormina, north and south, is immensely appealing. So many attractive bays, with caves, rocky coves and good sandy or pebbled beaches that’s easily accessible.
Nissi beach, Cyprus
The sandy beach stretches for 500m and the waters are clean enough for the beach to be titled the best blue beach- it’s amazing!!
Kampen beach, Germany
Small but refined, exclusive and open-minded, elegant and rural: Kampen offers endless sandy beaches and broad heaths, a red cliff and rough-edged characters, sparkling champagne.
