SACRAMENTO, Calif. (February 18, 2013)-In celebration of Children’s Dental Health Month in February, Anthem College in Sacramento is hosting a Free Dental Health Clinic on Saturday, February 23 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Students in Anthem College’s Dental Assistant program will conduct free oral health examinations for children, and educate them on oral hygiene and proper flossing and brushing techniques. Parents also will have the opportunity to view demonstrations of new dental procedures such as bleaching, veneers, dental implants and more.
“Practicing good oral hygiene at a young age has many benefits such as boosting a child’s self-esteem and preventing future developmental issues,” said Kathie Marsh, Dental Assistant Program Curriculum Coordinator for Anthem College. “We hope this event will get children excited about dental health and they will leave our campus smiling.”

Students enrolled in the Dental Assistant program at Anthem College learn chair side skills, instrument and tray set-up and sterilization, dental radiography, dental procedural coding and dental office skills, as well as proper brushing and flossing techniques and more.
