Chanty,

I had the exact same injury.... my hip shifted when I gave birth and kept getting further out of alignment because of carrying my daughter. I wrote a little bit about it here: http://mylifeinlederhosen.wordpress.com/2013/02/24/getting-my-so-ass-a-psoas-massage/ (pardon the cursing) but basically, my doctor wasn't as understanding and said no running or lunges/squats/weights on my for up to 6 weeks. I substituted in cycling during that time and laced up my sneakers again after 4 weeks. The trouble with this mis-aligned pelvis is that once it realigns, you have to retrain your hip flexors to keep the pain from coming back so a few yoga poses might help (pigeon pose is my go-to now). It's a real pain to have this flare up right before a race but I'm sure with a bit of therapy work with your ortho, you'll be able to still race. Just make sure to get a psoas massage. They are awesome for this injury recovery...

xo,

Milly
