Check Out My Results with the FitBit
I’ve lost a total of 20 pounds in the past 10 weeks, using my FitBit to walk 10,000 steps per day every day. That’s 2 pounds per week!
I’ve also lost 22% body fat in 10 weeks. I went from 42% body fat to 20%.
And here are my measurements…
BEFORE (10 WEEKS AGO):
BUST – 39
WAIST – 32
HIPS – 42.75
UPPER THIGH – 23.25
UPPER ARM – 12.5
AFTER (TODAY):
BUST – 36.5
WAIST – 29.5
HIPS – 40.5
UPPER THIGH – 21
UPPER ARM – 11
Total inches lost in 10 weeks: 11.5! That’s 3.5 inches in the bust, 2.5 inches in the waist, 2.25 in the hips, 2.25 in the upper thigh, and 1 inch in the upper arm.
How I Lost Weight with the FitBit
All I have been doing is walking 10,000 steps a day, every day, and I watch what I eat. FitBit has a function where you can log what you eat and make sure you stay under a certain number of calories. I’m doing the “hardest” setting, the 1,000 calorie deficit, which enables you to lose 2 pounds per week — and it really works!
I don’t restrict any foods or macronutrients. I don’t count carbs or calories. I do keep a log of what I eat on the FitBit dashboard, and it tracks calories for me. I eat real food (whatever I want) and I eat to satiety. I have not felt deprived in the slightest.
I’ve been trying to do the kettlebell as well, but I’m having the hardest time getting motivated with that. I have only been doing maybe one 10-minute kettlebell workout per week. But my goal is to increase that to 7 10-minute workouts per week. I think it will really help me in this last leg of my weight loss.
The great thing about the Fitbit is it incentivizes you to work out, because the more you work out, the more you can eat. Want a cookie after dinner? Do 3 minutes of kettlebell! (Kettlebell burns more calories — 20 calories per minute — than any other exercise and you can do it anywhere.)
Tonight is Date Night so in addition to my 10K steps (which I’ve already done and it’s not even 7:30 am — woo hoo!) I’m going to do an extra long 30-minute kettlebell workout and maybe some gardening, too, so I can eat more at dinner and have a little dessert.

Here’s How It Will Work
The FitBit Challenge officially starts Sunday, June 23rd and ends 6 weeks later on Saturday, August 3rd.
1. Enter the contest below (scroll down to where it says Enter the FitBit Challenge).
2. Send me your before photo and measurements (no later than tomorrow, June 23, 2013).
3. Get yourself a FitBit. Click here to order one on Amazon and have it shipped to you.
You could also borrow one from a friend (although it might be tough to get them to give it up!).
You don’t have to have a FitBit — any pedometer will do. Just make sure you can track your steps.
You can find pedometers from $6 to $50 on Amazon.
4. Tomorrow, June 23rd (not before), start tracking your steps on your FitBit every day over the next 6 weeks. Each day that you reach 10,000 steps or more, visit this site and log it. (Scroll down to enter and log your steps in the Rafflecopter widget below.)
5. When the 6 weeks are up on Saturday, August 3rd (at midnight Pacific,) whoever has the most points AND has the best results (measurements, weight loss, and before and after photos,) will win prizes.
