About The Anglo-Omani Society
The Anglo-Omani Society was formed in 1976, with His Majesty Sultan Qaboos as the Patron and His Excellency the Omani Ambassador in London as its President. The Society works to preserve the longstanding friendship and historic bond between Britain and Oman. Through an active programme of talks and events, delegations, publications and outreach in London and Muscat, the Society continually seeks to bring friends together to celebrate our joint history and strengthen current and future partnerships. The Society also makes substantial grants to academic bodies and individuals who engage in activities that contribute towards the charity’s wider objectives. In 2011, the New Generation Group (NGG) was created with the purpose of continuing the deep friendship existing between both countries for generations to come.
