Facebook Welcome Page Blog

For the last few months, I had been thinking about getting my businesses listed on Facebook but I was seriously struggling to find the time. In all honesty, I did try once before but it lost momentum and I lost enthusiasm as ‘proper’ work took priority. In the end, I deleted the accounts with a view to starting over, although I wasn’t envisaging the starting over to take quite so long. That said, it has been nice to have been too busy to get round to them, if you know what I mean.

Well, im pleased to announce that i’ve finally done it! Woohoo! I now have a dedicated fan page for my Virtual Assistant Business and also for my Professional CV Writing business, both sitting proudly on Facebook, ready to grow and develop in to another great social media tool.

Whilst both my business fan pages are still relatively new, they do now have some content and an ever-growing list of lovely friends, work colleagues and business contacts. Why don’t you pop over and see who you know, or say hello? Let’s all get connected and share in the phenomenon that is social networking! It is here to stay, so let’s embrace it!

Setting up the Fan pages

Setting up the Fan pages was relatively easy, I just scrolled down to the bottom of the (web-based) Facebook page and clicked ‘Create a Page’ and off I went! It really wasn’t hard to set up and in no time I had found friends and businesses to connect to. I find Facebook is a lot more relaxed than Linkedin and I think it is definitely worth having as an integral part of my marketing plan. Its fan page platform enables me to interact with people, whilst communicating my message and developing relationships with a wider audience. No longer is Facebook a hang-out for school kids, statistics are now showing the greatest amount of new accounts are actually adults. Getting 25 ‘Likes’ for a Vanity URL

Of course, the first challenge which I became a little bit obsessed with was getting the necessary 25 ‘Likes’ for each page to qualify for a vanity URL. But, thanks to the lovely ladies at VASG and my loyal Twitter followers, I soon got my 25 ‘Likes’ and quickly registered my Vanity URLs by going to: www.facebook.com/username

Sadly, my own name had been taken in just about every connotation so I decided on AngliaSolutions as my main user name. Realistically, most people I know from social networking sites will recognise me, or at least I hope so, from that tag! Fortunately, I encountered a bit of luck and both AngliaCVSolutions and AngliaBusinessSolutions were available so I made sure I snaffled them up quickly.

With a bit of tweaking, twiddling about and updating my profile I soon had friend requests pending, some accepted and my profile and fan pages in place ready to go or was I?

No, I had seen other people with fab welcome pages and I wanted one. In fact, I wanted two – one for each fan page. So, where to start now FMBL had been withdrawn? I know, there must be an App I could use!

If you are also wanting a dedicated Facebook Welcome page, then read on, I can create one for you for a very reasonable fee of just £35.00!

Creating a Facebook Welcome Page using iFrame Applications

Off I went to Google in Search of an App that would do the job. Luckily, mid-way through my search – weighing up the pro’s and con’s, the brilliant Sally of Sally Walker Creative Media, contacted me on Facebook funnily enough and pointed me in the right direction, there are just so many Apps to choose from.

And that was that, a great App was found to create Welcome Pages for people with limited coding knowledge. Literally, within a few hours, I had a new Welcome page up and running on the Anglia Business Solutions fan page.

The next day, in less time, as I’d followed the same design principle, I had a Welcome Page live for Anglia CV Solutions.

Why don’t you head over and take a look, perhaps you could give me a ‘Like’ to and I will then reciprocate? If you need more ‘Likes’, then you should also head over to Steve Clarke’s Linkedin page when you have finished reading this post. There you will find a great network of people ready to exchange a ‘like’ for a ‘like’, all having the vanity URL within their grasp.

If you are looking for an affordable Facebook Welcome Page along the lines of mine (see below) to welcome your visitors and encourage them to ‘Like’ your page, then please get in touch or place an order. My email address is: enquiries@angliabusinesssolutions.co.uk
