You might remember our post about Anya Sarre’s Nautical Baby Shower held in LA last year. It’s hard to believe that her son, Sawyer, has already been born AND just turned 1! Little adorable Sawyer celebrated big just a couple weeks ago in their LA beach home.
Anya’s over the top Crab Shack Birthday Celebration was recently featured on Celebrity Baby Scoop and we are thrilled to share details from the party!
We were thrilled to design a new printable invitation and collection for Sawyer’s Crab Shack themed 1st birthday party.
The Nautical Crab Shack Party Invitation was designed custom for Anya and we included an adorable photo of her son with a graphic sailor hat. I love the aqua, red, light blue and navy color scheme. Anya really wanted the color scheme to be unique compared to the traditional red, white and blue.

Sawyer’s Crab Shack beachfront in Malibu was held on July 14 with celebrity style expert Anya Sarre as the hostess. Anya planned an over-the-top nautical themed first birthday bash for her baby boy, Sawyer William.
Anya had been planning this party since the day he was born. Every detail, every napkin, from the crab piñata to the lobster table cloths were chosen.
Guests included Edward Norton, wife Shauna Robertson and their baby; Garcelle Beauvais and her 5-year-old twin sons Jax and Jaid;Fox Sports’ Petros Papadakis and his wife and baby; and, Chudney Ross and her 10-month-old daughter Callaway all stopped by the Crabshack to celebrate Sawyer’s big 1st birthday!
The parents sipped on MommyJuice Wine out of lobster wine glasses (a favorite of Anya’s) While enjoying the ocean breeze and beach.
Pizza, salad and chicken bites were served from Fresh Brothers and the kids snacked on organic pouches and toddler bars from HappyFamily.
Sawyer’s friends each got to make their own stuffed animal from Johnny’s Animaland. The kids chose from a shark, dolphin, or sea turtle adorned with a custom “Sawyer’s Crab Shack” T-shirt and complete with a wish, a backpack and a birth certificate.
Sawyer was adorable and dressed in his reversible crab seersucker monogram shortalls, with matching bowtie and “1″ hat custom made by Buds and Branches for his big day.
Anya was gorgeous in a strapless red and white striped dress with a “yacht club” belt she designed and had made at Cheryl Fudge. She accessorized her look with vintage Chanel earrings and Tory Burch wedges.
A table of sweet treats from Magnolia Bakery were displayed for the sweet lovers. Whale, anchor, or ship wheel cupcakes, mini cupcakes complete with Sawyer’s monogram, macaroons and cookies and a three-tier buttercream cake detailed with ship wheels, crabs, and anchors.
Custom designed invitation and party accessories designed by Anders Ruff, and no guest left the Crab Shack empty-handed. Anchor tote bags filled with Sawyer’s favorite things included custom Mabel’s Label’s bag tags and labels with each kids name, “Be Quick” bags and coin purses from Ju-Ju-Be, an Ubermom anchor wipe box, a reusable Yummi Pouch, World’s Softest teddybear from Beverly Hills Teddy Bear Company, crab print Funkins reusable cloth napkins, Squeaky Bee baby wash and shampoo and wipes from Bella B, a stroller hook from SUGARSNAP, Ology soothing baby lotion, organic snacks from Happy Family, baby shampoo from EcoStore, and a bottle of wine from MommyJuice wines.
Sawyer enjoyed opening up some gifts for his first birthday, including one that both mommy and Sawyer will appreciate: the new Shaidee to help keep protected from the sun while mom continues to enjoy the gorgeous Malibu weather this summer carrying her precious son in the sling.
