It’s a bird, it’s a plane… no… its Super Valentine’s Day! To make Valentine’s Day even more “super” this year, we decided to create a Super hero themed Valentine’s Day Party and Printables! Our goal was to transform typical store bought Valentine’s Day candies, treats and desserts into adorable classroom Valentine’s ideas. (If you’re like me, you get sick of store bought / commercial stuff for the holidays, especially Valentine’s Day!)
Michelle Kujawski of Michelle Kujawski Photography came to snap some amazing photographs of the Superhero Valentine’s Day party setup.
A few of our NEW Printable Super Hero Valentines ideas were:
– The Printable Comic book style valentine’s day lunchbox favor boxes.
– Super S’mores Bag Toppers
– Conversation Heart Box Wraps (with “to” and “from” places on the sides!)
– Gum Pack wrappers (with “to” and “from” spots on the back! So cute! PS. You can get 5 packs for $1 at Dollar Tree! Get away with doing the whole class for under $10 including the printable wrappers!)

The dessert table was a vintage antique red lacquer table that we decorated with metal, vintage looking boxes for height and display. Contrasting white cake stands were used to display all of the treats and Valentine’s Day cards. We designed a printable “Super Valentine” circle banner to look comic book style and hung it on the front of the table. We also designed heart pennants to hang across the widow above the table.
We hung a vintage Superman metal sign on the backdrop and filled the metal box on the floor with old Comic Books for the kids to look through.
The main “symbol” for the graphic Printable Valentine’s Day collection was the Heart Emblem, similar to a Superman emblem but with the heart in the center. Kid Kapers even designed a custom cape for our little Superhero!
VALENTINE IDEAS
“Super S’mores” were made using the printable Superhero Valentine’s Day S’mores Bag Topper along with cellophane bags from Nashville Wraps. We filled the bags with graham crackers, stackable marshmallows and mini chocolate bars from the Dollar Store. The backside of the bag topper had a spot to write “to” and “from” and was perfect for handing out to all our little Superhero’s friends.
Pack of Gum Wrappers: “I’ll get you out of this sticky situation, Valentine” gum wrappers were a hit! We wrapped up 5-piece packs of gum (found at any Dollar Store for cheap!) with our printable Superhero Valentine gum wrapper set, and the kids loved writing their to and from on the backs.
Conversation Heart Candy Boxes were wrapped with the boy and girl version of the printable wrapper and signed on the “to” and “from” side of the boxes.
Superhero Lunchbox Favor Box: Vintage Metal Superhero lunchboxes are so iconic from the old school days, so we recreated a printable version that would be perfect to put Valentine’s Day treats into and give out to classmates.
“You make my heart POP!” bags were labeled with the printable toppers and filled with either POPcorn or lolliPOPs.
Red favor boxes with clear windows (Nashville Wraps) in the front were filled with mini candy bars that had been embellished with our printable chocolate bar wrappers. We tied twine around the box and added the printable favor tag that said “We saved Valentine’s Day” and “Thanks for a super day!”
Mini and full sized chocolate bars were wrapped with the printable wrapper that said “YUM!” Hershey kisses were also labeled with the superhero themed printable 3/4″ party logos that said “Yum” as well as the heart emblem logo.
PARTY DESSERTS
We bought a cake from Walmart for $12 and dressed it up for the Superhero Valentine’s Day Party. We put blue sixlets around the base of the cake to add a pop of color. We then wrapped a black and white pinstripe ribbon around the center of the cake and put the heart emblem printable in the center. Lastly, we topped the cake off with a printable cake topper set from our Valentine’s Day printable collection. It looked like the characters were flying above the cake — so cute! The Super Girl is saying “Let’s Save Valentine’s Day!” and the Super Boy is saying “That’s a super idea!” We also added in the little heart printable toppers.
Cupcakes were dressed up with the printable cupcake wrapper and we stuck a washi tape wrapped lollipop stick into the cupcake and added the 2″ party logo on top from the printable superhero Valentine’s Day collection. We had heart candies from the dollar store, so we added a trio of the hearts to the top of the cupcake to tie in with the trio of hearts shown throughout the printable collection.
Chocolate covered Oreos from Sweeties By Kim were stacked on the cake stand with the little lunch box favor boxes. To add in the superhero element, we added a party flag that said “YUM” coming out of the cookies.
Firefly Confections made the most amazing sugar cookies and recreated our graphic designs onto her cookies. “Super Valentine’s Day” heart cookies were a hit as well as the super emblem cookie and Superman cookie!
The kids washed down their treats with milk filled glass bottles embellished with the drink wrap. The striped straws from Cute Tape were topped with a party flag that said “POP.”
The kids got to sign Valentines Day Cards in the Superhero theme. There were three styles for boys and three styles for girls that were all inspired by vintage comic books.
So… Do you think your little super heros would approve?
Thanks to Michelle Kujawski Photography for her fabulous photos!
