The Porsche 356 was Porsche’s first production automobile. It was a lightweight and nimble-handling rear-engine rear-wheel-drive 2-door sports car available in hardtop coupe and open configurations. Design innovations continued during the years of manufacture, contributing to its motorsports success and popularity.

One owner Southern California family owned Porsche 356SC Reutter Coupe with freshly rebuilt, 1720cc rebuilt motor by Ted Blake. Finished in the original Ruby Red color and the original Black Leatherette.

This incredible Porsche has an amazing story. The story starts when a lovely young lady named Joanna turned sixteen. Her mother bought her a car – but not just any car, but a red 356SC. Joanna’s mother was from Holland and had a deep appreciation of German automobiles. She found a near-new 356SC at a Porsche dealer on Firestone Boulevard near their home just outside of Los Angeles. The only problem was that the owner of the dealership had this car imported for himself from Switzerland so he could drive it. After the owner of the dealership drove the car for two months, Joanna’s mother finally convinced him to sell it since it was the only red 356 on the lot and they had to have a red car. The car still holds onto its Swiss, dealer installed badge on the fender.

This beautiful car is a documented, one family owned car and possesses a Porsche 356 Registry Article (Volume 29-6) on the family and the car. The Porsche has been properly cared for and stored from 1978 until 2002 in a dry Southern California garage. Also included is the Certificate of Authenticity from the Porsche Registry.

This Porsche is a true, numbers matching 356SC through and through with engine number 810519.
