I wish I could tell you that I found a magic pill that makes your hair grow this long over night - unfortunately - I can't, but as you can tell from the title, today's post is going to be all about my new favourite clip-in extensions from Irresistible Me. I was very kindly sent some Remy hair extensions to try out. As you guys know, I just got my hair cut really short a few weeks ago and although I do like my short hair I definitely prefer long hair on me. Hair extensions are such a nice way to change up your look and are fun to play with since they add a ton of volume and, of course, length to the hair. ♡HOW TO TAKE CARE OF HAIR EXTENSIONS♡
To ensure that your extensions will last you a really long time, it’s essential to get the maintenance rituals down, because when you don't take care of your extensions, they won't last as long as they're supposed to. Remy hair is indeed the best kind of hair used for hair extensions and they do last longer than other types, but since it is made of 100% human hair, Remy clip-in hair extensions should be given the same care that you would give your own.
Shampooing: They should only be washed every 10-20 wears or when there's too much product built up and they become unmanageable to style, shampooing them more than is necessary will dry them out because they don't receive natural oils from the scalp. It's recommended to use shampoos and conditioners aimed for dry hair.
Brushing: Gently remove tangles with a wide tooth comb or a detangling brush and work your hair from the ends carefully moving upwards towards the weft. This method prevents breakage. Never brush or comb your hair extensions while they're still wet! Always use your fingers to detangle them until they're dry.
Styling: Remy human hair can be curled and straightened just like your natural hair, but keep in mind that heat can damage your clip-in's cuticles, so always apply some sort of heat spray before styling the hair. Opt for styling products that are alcohol free, I like using oils or conditioning sprays.
