Zurich Insurance Malaysia Bhd has partnered with BP Healthcare Group to introduce a comprehensive personal accident insurance, Active Living, specially designed for those in their prime between the ages of 40 and 60.
General Insurance President David Fike said Active Living is the country’s first personal accident plan that covers a person from top to toe, combining the best of protection and prevention in one policy.
“Statistics show that one in three Malaysians is deemed not ‘active’, 9.6 million have high cholesterol and 3.5 million are diagnosed with diabetes.
“Therefore, we have teamed up with BP Healthcare to encourage Malaysians to take preventive steps towards their health so that they can continue to maintain a healthy and completely worry-free lifestyle,” he told a press conference after launching the product here today.
Also present was BP Healthcare Chairman Datuk Beh Chun Chuan.
From only RM1.10 per day, the plan covers policyholders in the event of accidental death, permanent disability, broken or fractured bones with a variety of optional riders such as dislocation, burns, funeral expenses, nursing care allowance and medical reimbursement.
One of the policy’s wellness benefit is complimentary yearly health screenings and preferred rates of up to 50 per cent cheaper for on-demand house calls by BP Healthcare Doctor2U service.
Furthermore, Active Living is the first personal accident insurance plan to offer coverage and protection to the ripe old age of 100.
To make the claims process as hassle-free as possible, Zurich comes up with the “Snap, Claim & Pay” express claims service whereby under this feature, policyholders can submit claims amounting less than RM500 using their smartphones.
“They only need to snap a photo of their itemised hospital bill, and send it to genmclaims@zurich.com.my with the details. No complicated forms, no hassle,” Fike added.
