Title: Senior Writer
Reports to: Vice President of Communications
Summary: The Senior Writer advances the work of A.C. Fitzgerald & Associates by preparing compelling donor communications for clients. This includes grantwriting, report writing, emails, and donor letters. The Senior Writer supports the firm's marketing activities and may handle a small portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
• Handle a portfolio of clients to generate revenue for the firm
• Work directly with clients to develop and deliver high-quality proposals, reports and communications
• Track deadlines and deliverables for clients
• Maintain and increase knowledge base of foundations and philanthropists
• Participate in training seminars ACF&A hosts for clients
• Participate in seminars and events hosted by other organizations on behalf of ACF&A
• Draft and/or edit documents including client correspondence, reports, memos and emails
• Hold meetings or calls with prospective clients interested in ACF&A's communication services
Expectations
• Professionally interact with clients in-person, via telephone or email
• Attend company meetings that occur during work hours, and support team on various projects
Skill Requirements
• At least 3 years of related work experience
• Excellent grasp of English technicalities, including grammar and usage
• Ability to vary and control nuances of tone, diction, rhythm, pace and other stylistic features to make a piece of writing suit its purpose
• Ability to proof copy
• Ability to render complex technical aspects of client's programs in language that donors can readily understand
• Expertise in Microsoft Office (Mac operating system experience, required)
• Strong communication skills
• Detail orientated
• Ability to prioritize projects and strong problem solving skills
Education
• Bachelors degree required
