Are you an experienced event associate who would like to use your skills to advance liberty? This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial candidate to interact with talented scholars and staff at the world's premier university source for market-oriented ideas. The ideal candidate has at least two years of event planning experience and will take part in the planning and execution of Mercatus events to advance the mission of the Mercatus Center.

Responsibilities include:

-Assisting in development and logistical support for Mercatus program and development events

-Coordinating with the director of event strategy and program teams to ensure events advance stated objectives

-Manage rsvp tracking (including post-event reporting) and event registrations

-Executing assigned events (duties may include but are not limited to venue research, vendor coordination, and onsite event coordination)

-Building and managing relationships with current and existing vendors, speakers, event attendees, and internal constituencies

-Supporting the events team on special projects and events

-Management of internal staff-requested events

-Manage communication of weekly events with Mercatus Management Team

Requirements Include:

-A strong interest in Mercatus Center's mission

-Minimum of two years of event planning experience in a fast-paced environment

-Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation

-An entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic, supported by commitment and follow-through

-Experience generating ideas and revising/improving existing methodologies, programs, etc.

-Organized, creative, adaptable, and detail-oriented

-A strong ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects effectively

-Superior time management and troubleshooting/conflict resolution skills

-Principled, ethical, and committed to exceptional work quality and standards

-An ability to travel domestically

-Some contract negotiation experience

-Proficient using Microsoft Office suite and databases
