Connected soldiers, new apps, new products and NBA data visualizations are all on tap for what is a very eventful week (besides Friday).  A few of these events have already accrued quite a few RSVPs (and have waiting lists as a result), so get on top of your plans as soon as you can.
Monday, January 11
The Boston New Technology Meetup Group holds its January product showcase at Microsoft's NERD facility in Cambridge from 6 p.m. to 9. The night's presenters are MissionControl, Censio, IntelyCare, The Hawaii Project, My onCampus Chef and Gamer Duel. The event is free, but there are only a couple spots left. Nearly 300 people have RSVP'd, so good luck with that.

Drinks on Tap kicks off its mobile development meetup series with an event at Ned Devine's in Boston from 6 p.m. to 9. The apps being demoed are Ovia by Ovuline, Supermassive and Jess Meet Ken. The event is free, but 21+ only. Sorry, kiddos.

Boston Accelerators: Navigating Your Options: The Capital Network hosts this unique panel at the Morgan Lewis building at 1 Federal St. in Boston from 6 p.m. to 8. Semyon Dukach of Techstars, Robby Bitting of MassChallenge, Melissa Withers of Betaspring's RevUp, Katherine Macdonald of Cleantech Open and Shanker Sahai of Constant Contact's SMB Innoloft will each discuss what their accelerators will have to offer. The event costs $30 for non-members.

Cambridge Bitcoin Meetup hosts its monthly meetup at Moska Restaurant in Cambridge starting at 6 p.m. The event is free. No Dogecoin enthusiasts allowed (just kidding)..
Tuesday, January 12
The Connected Solider: The MIT Enterprise Forum hosts a talk by Jean-Louis DeGay about his work at the U.S. Army's Natick Soldier Research Development and Engineering Center. The event happens from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30, and it will include demonstrations of tech used by soldiers that are  developed at the center. The event costs $30 for non-members.

Entrepreneur's Lounge: What's It Really Like to Start a Tech Firm? The Venture Forum hosts a talk by Worcester-based ten24 Digital Solutions founder and President David Crouch from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute's Odeum Campus Center. The event costs $15 for non-members, and it's free for students.

The Boston Hardware Startup Meetup kicks off the new year with its first event of 2016 at Bolt's Boston headquarters on Chauncy Street, which starts at 6 p.m. The presenting startups are Humon, Soft Robotics and Sparx. The event is free, but it's completely booked up right now, with over 150 people having RSVP'd.

Visualize the NBA, simplify the data layer: ReactJS Boston hosts this event at Fitbit's Boston office starting at 6:30 p.m. The event's speakers are Peter Beshai, a basketball systems analyst for the Boston Celtics who has created a basketball stats visualization tool called Buckets, and Kevin Robinson, a software engineer who most recently worked at Twitter. The event is free, and more than 100 people have RSVP'd.

She Geeks Out hosts "Laugh Night" at HubSpot's Cambridge headquarters from 6 p.m. to 8:30. The event's comedians are Christa Weiss, Gabrielle Zerbib, Kate Procyshyn, Mariel Cabral, Rose DeMaio and Marianne Bayard. The event is free and for women only.
Wednesday, January 13
Mass Innovation Nights comes back with its first product showcase of the New Year at Endurance International Group's Burlington headquarters from 6 p.m. to 8:30. The presenting startups are Pavlok, tripBuddy, Admitster, Impress.ly, WeGush Gratitude, VQL, SnapScreen, Ualli, GemShelf, Metacog and Business On Tapp. The event is free.

Risk Containment Strategies for Startups: The Startup Coalition hosts a panel on risks faced by startups from 6 p.m. to 9 at WeWork South Station. The panelists are Mike Cavaretta of Morse, Barnes-Brown & Pendleton; Bryan Dank of Telamon Insurance & Financial Network; and Stephen Davis of CXO Advisory Group. The event is free.

Design in Boston: Creating Delightful Digital Experiences: General Assembly hosts this panel about user experience at Hatch Fenway in Boston from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30. The panelists are Conor Sheehan of Cantina, Soudy Khan of Toast, Matt Tharp of Zauis, Ryan Mulloy of Carter Edwards & Co, Amy Chenault of Society of Grownups and Scott Slagsvol of IDEO. The event is free.

Disruptive Technologies Pitch Day: MassChallenge hosts this networking and pitch event sponsored by Cisco Entrepreneurs in Residence from 4 p.m. to 7. Participating startups work in fields such as deep machine learning, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, cloud and cybersecurity. The event is free to attend.

UNITE on the Maker Movement: Design Museum Boston hosts this panel on the maker industry from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 at Cantina's office in Boston. The panelists are Anne Hathaway of Etsy, John Wise of Lovepop Cards and Peter Zink of Boston University. The event costs $15 for non-members.

Junior Web Developer Meet & Hire: General Assembly hosts this "reverse job fair" for companies interested in hiring new web developers who have gone through GA's 12-week web development program. The event happens from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 at WeWork South Station. It is free for participating companies.

The Future of Women in Sales: the Women in Sales group hosts a panel from 6 p.m. to 8 at HubSpot's Cambridge headquarters. The panel includes Kara Gilbert, advisor at Bain Capital Ventures and former SVP of sales at Rapid7. The event is free.
Friday, January 15
The Learn Cassandra & Spark meetup group hosts an event on "data space" starting at 3 p.m. at Bentley University. For more information, join the group online for free.
