Others just want to burn 7 inch sections of PVC and GXL wire to prove a point (View the video here!) on our YouTube page.
We’ve touted the benefits of GXL wire for quite a while, but decided to provide some proof to back up our claims. We simulated a short circuit by sending a 50 amp current through a 7 inch length of PVC wire, followed by the same length of the GXL wire we use to build our harnesses.
If nothing else, it was a great excuse to get two of the guys (Markus and Kris) behind many of our YouTube videos out from behind the camera (or microphone) just long enough to sneak a few pictures.
I won’t spoil the video by writing about the results here, but it’s safe to say our experiment showed a pretty clear winner.
