In my book, this is nothing short of treasonous on Obama and Kerry’s parts. We alienate every ally we have on the planet that stands for freedom and crawl into bed with communist dictators such as Fidel and Raul Castro. Unbelievable. They are brutal, murdering communists and we have welcomed them to DC with open arms. Dictators of a feather. Those standing against this such as Ted Cruz, Robert Menendez and Marco Rubio are called ‘hardliners.’ Really? You mean because they stood against butchers, who torture and murder those who stand opposed to their oppressive rule? That’s so uncivilized – let’s cuddle with mass murderers. Then you have raving Marxists like Danny Glover who just can’t wait for a photo-op at the new embassy. Glover never met a communist or a dictator he didn’t adore. He’s despicable. This is Obama’s new Progressive America. Where Israel is shunned and despised and Cuba is elevated to ally status and is revered. Communist change has come to America.

From the Daily Mail:

The United States and Cuba have restored full diplomatic ties after sweeping aside more than five decades of tempestuous relations.

A Cuban flag was raised in the lobby of the State Department in Washington in the early hours of Monday, marking a new era of relations between the two nations.

Following that monumental occasion, Cuban officials formally inaugurated their Washington embassy by raising their national flag for the first time in 54 years.

The U.S. Embassy in Cuba has also opened, but the American flag won’t be raised in Havana until Secretary of State John Kerry visits next month.

More than 500 people, including Obama administration officials, U.S. lawmakers and a large visiting Cuban delegation, attended the ceremony at the nearly century-old mansion that was being converted back into the Cuban Embassy.

The U.S. delegation was headed by Assistant Secretary of State Roberta Jacobson.

The crowd at the embassy reopening included members of Congress who have supported rapprochement.

But no invitations went to hard-line anti-Castro lawmakers, such as Senators Marco Rubio and Bob Menendez, who have opposed Obama’s outreach and modest easing of restrictions on business and travel.

A three-man honor guard marched onto the front lawn where the Cuban flag was mounted on a newly installed pole while a band played the Cuban national anthem.

As the flag was slowly raised, there were competing chants from the crowd outside the gates. ‘Cuba si, embargo no!’ Shouted one group. ‘Cuba si, Fidel no,’ yelled a much smaller group.

In a further sign of a desire to move past decades of enmity, Kerry and Rodriguez, the first Cuban foreign minister on an official visit to Washington since the Cuban Revolution, were due to meet at the State Department and then hold a news conference later on Monday.

The new era began with little fanfare when an agreement between the two nations to resume normal ties on July 20 came into force just after midnight Sunday – and the diplomatic missions of each country were upgraded from interests sections to embassies.

It comes after five decades of tempestuous relations between Washington and Havana, hardened over the five decades since President John F. Kennedy first tangled with youthful revolutionary Fidel Castro over Soviet expansion in the Americas.

Without ceremony in the pre-dawn hours, maintenance workers hung the Cuban flag in the lobby of the State Department alongside those of other nations with which the U.S. has diplomatic relations.

The U.S. Interests Section in Havana plans to announce its upgrade to embassy status in a written statement on Monday, but the Stars and Stripes will not fly at the mission until Kerry visits in August for a ceremonial flag-raising.

Although normalization has taken center-stage in the US-Cuba relationship, there remains a deep ideological gulf between the nations, and many issues still to resolve.

Among them are thorny disputes such as over mutual claims for economic reparations, Havana’s insistence on the end of the 53-year-old trade embargo and U.S. calls for Cuba to improve on human rights and democracy.

Some U.S. lawmakers, including several prominent Republican presidential candidates, have vowed not to repeal the embargo and pledged to roll back Obama’s moves on Cuba.

But Monday’s events cap a remarkable change of course in U.S. policy toward the communist island under President Barack Obama, who had sought rapprochement with Cuba since he first took office and has progressively loosened restrictions on travel and remittances to the island.

We have just fully endorsed tyranny with this move to reinstate relations with Cuba. Now, the communist regime will demand reparations from us in the millions and Obama is likely to comply. While Cuba has Russia, China and Iran building military installations in their country and funding them, we will give them money so they can kill us faster. Joy. John Kerry will travel to Havana to reopen our embassy there in August and the deal will be done. Never mind the thousands who have been murdered and tortured under Castro. Never mind that it is his doing that Cuba has lived in poverty forever under a communist iron fist. Never mind that they are buds with every enemy we have and will actively work to destroy us. Let’s celebrate restored ties with Communist Cuba!
