Reading Lessons Through Literature – $25.00 Value
Reading Lessons Through Literature is a pick-up and go Orton phonogram reading program organized around the stories in The Elson Readers. Like other Orton phonogram programs, it focuses on teaching reading through spelling.
First children learn the basic phonograms; Reading Lessons Through Literature teaches 75 basic phonograms. After children have learned the first 26 phonograms, they begin writing spelling words, analyzing them, and reading them for practice. And finally, they begin to read stories which include the words they’ve learned.
In each level, the spelling lists are organized around stories in The Elson Readers and padded with additional words from the Ayres list.
Each level includes the instructional material, the spelling lists, and one of The Elson Readers; Level 1 contains the Primer, Level 2 contains Book 1, Level 3 contains Book 2, and Level 4 contains Book 3 - there are no additional readers to purchase.
In the Primer, multi-letter phonograms are underlined and multi-syllable words are separated between syllables to help the beginning reader. In Book 1, multi-syllable words are separated between syllables.

Write From History Level 1 – Retail $22.95
The Write from History series is an elementary writing curriculum based on the classical, Charlotte Mason Method of instruction. With this series, children learn to write by studying models written by talented authors from history. They read historical selections and narrate these back via oral narration, written narration, or written summations. Following each historical selection, a writing model (written in a true handwriting font) is studied for copywork. Additional models located in the appendix are used for studied dictation.
As children study the writing of talented authors, they absorb the style of those they imitate. They also learn to create complex sentences and use appropriate word choice. This method of teaching writing is based on the Charlotte Mason method, and it gently but completely prepares students for middle school writing.
This writing program teaches grammar, spelling, penmanship, and history—all at once. You can select from Ancient, Medieval, or Early Modern History in Manuscript or Ancient and Medieval in Cursive. Level Two is available in the 4th-6th Grade Bundle and the “Build Your Own” options.
