Hello!
I promise that I’ll move past the graduation shtick soon, but we have one final day of celebration before really launching into summer, so I have to milk it. Most people are playing the ‘too cool card’ and choosing not to participate in the massive commencement ceremony at the Moda Center today, but I am not one of those people. Last year, when I got my bachelor’s degree, I opted not to participate in any festivities because I knew that I would be in the same position 12 months later, but now it is my turn to celebrate! The funny thing is though, I’m totally cheating the celebration plan. Technically, all of the Masters of Education students walk in the afternoon ceremony, but my husband’s Speech and Hearing Sciences program is listed for the morning ceremony. With 6,000+ graduates, it has to be split up. There’s no other way, and even like this it’s nearly unbearable. The only way that I can get through the three hour ceremony is if I have Eric sitting next to me and a bag of salty, flavorful jerky in my pocket. In order to work both things in our favor, we’re going to take advantage of the fact that there is no assigned seating or attendance taken. I’m going full incognito and hiding in the ranks of his program so that we can walk across the stage right after one another and really do this thing together. If you’re trying to find me in the flood of black clad graduates, I’ll be the one with the wrong colored tassel, the glittery cap, and a bag of jerky in hand. Happy holidays!
