With seven years of experience in due diligence, he has advised clients in Europe, Asia and the U.S. across a range of industries and sectors, including business services, retail and consumer goods, hotels and restaurants, education, media and mining.
Mr. Kingston has developed skills in critically evaluating a company’s key financial and operational business drivers, the quality and sustainability of forecast earnings and cash flows, and potential changes in a company’s working capital requirements.
Before joining A&M, he spent six years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, first in their consumer and industrial products and services assurance team where his audit clients included Unilever and Hunting plc. He later moved to transaction services in London, spending time with their transaction modeling team and a one-year secondment to the Hong Kong transactions practice.
While at A&M and PwC, he advised a variety of clients, including Sovereign Capital, the Civil Aviation Authority, Caird Capital, BlueGem, BMG Chrysalis, Apollo, Warburg Pincus, TDR Capital, Tata Steel, AAC Capital Partners, UBM, Li and Fung, Cyril Sweett plc, Chinalco and NTT Docomo.
Notable transactions include: vendor due diligence on the D&D London restaurant group, independent business review on behalf of the CAA, vendor due diligence on Euromedic (a pan-European provider of dialysis and diagnostic services), vendor due diligence on Amtico (a maker of vinyl flooring), due-diligence and re-financing for TDR Capital owned VPS (vacant property specialists) and their acquisition of SitexOrbis, buy-side due diligence on consumer goods companies Jimlar (shoes), Anteprima (designer goods) and TV Mania (licensed branded clothing) for Li and Fung, and an intra-month liquidity review with Apollo for their acquisition of Alcan.
Mr. Kingston earned a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and mathematics from King’s College, London. He is a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
