Here at Gigs and Festivals we pride ourselves on bringing our readers exclusive new musical content. Today we have an exclusive track from Stonehouse called ’Ceidwad’.
‘Ceidwad’ is Welsh for ’Keeper’ and the track is the only Welsh language song on their latest self titled album.
Colin Roberts of Stonehouses commented about the track ’Ceidwad’: ”Written in my mother tongue, and is simply a story of despair. Influenced by a film of the increasing homeless street bound children of Rio de Janeiro. For that matter, those children anywhere on this planet that find themselves fucked by the governing house! Through the eyes of a desperate young woman.”
Since their conception in December 2010 Stonehouse have gigged incessantly, both acoustically and when plugged into the mains. Their new self titled album is Stonehouse‘s second album offering. The first albeit a live session, captured their acoustic mood and colour. Put together under pressure from gig comers to have something from Stonehouse to play, it captured Stonehouseand their songs from their “early days”.
Diversification is a great thing and it is seemingly the nature of Stonehouse‘s live shows. Playing everywhere from living rooms to TeePee’s, a couple of fantastic Churches, a Bank Vault and festivals the length and width of Britain. Expect nothing but true passion from the Welsh boys where ever they end up performing…
