Are you eating enough?

Even if your goal is weight loss, you could still be not eating enough. I know it’s hard to believe and you’re saying no, no, no…I eat plenty. I don’t mean going out to dinner on the weekends or binge drinking at a Cubs game; I mean your daily food intake. Are you eating breakfast every morning, are you eating before and after you exercise, are you eating enough of each food group on a daily basis. You can eat too many calories but your calories could be low in nutrients and affecting your body negatively. I know it’s unrealistic to meet all your nutrient needs every day but your everyday food choices will make a difference in your long term health and will affect your weight. Consistency is the key when it comes to eating healthy. You can’t eat healthy 1 week and unhealthy the next week. And you don’t want to eat less or more healthy during the week and completely blow it on the weekends. You will end up maintaining your weight with this pattern. A good guideline to follow is mostly eat healthy- which means eating fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean protein, low fat dairy, and good fats and splurge smartly- eat a burger but have it with a salad or eat those chocolate chip pancakes for brunch but eat a balanced healthy dinner that day. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring or tasteless; try new foods and recipes, don’t eat too little calories- that works but only for the short term. You need to find the right balance for you that works for your schedule and is realistic to your lifestyle.
Try out this easy recipe to ease into your new consistent healthy lifestyle.
