Recap of Ghanaian Players Abroad for the weekend's football games.

Ghanaian players abroad returned to their respective clubs after the international break that saw the Black Stars of Ghana give themselves more work to do to make it to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia as they were defeated by two goals to nil against Egypt.

Here is how the Ghanaian players fared at their various clubs.

Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan was taken off on a stretcher on Saturday as his Al Ahli team lost by 2-0 to Al Jazira. The Ghanaian who missed Black Stars’ game against Egypt due to injury landed awkwardly during the game is suspected to have another knee injury.

Daniel Amartey and Jeffrey Schlupp were in action for English Premier League champions Leicester City in their away game against Watford on Saturday.

Amartey started the game and played the full duration while Jeffrey Schlupp came on as a substitute with Leicester City losing the game by two goals to one.

Black Stars vice-captain Adre Ayew played an hour for his team West Ham United who lost their away game to Tottenham Hotspur in a five-goal thritller.

Ayew was replaced by Edimilson Fernandes in the 3-2 defeat for his West Ham United team.

In the English Championship, Andy Yiadom played the full game for Barnsley who were held to a goalless draw at home to Wigan Athletic.

Albert Adomah started for Aston Villa in their game on Friday night as they secured a point away from home to Brighton & Hove Albion with a 1-1 draw.

Jordan Ayew came off the bench to play in the game replacing Gabriel Agbonlahor in the 55th minute.

Christian Atsu was however an unused substitute for Newcastle United who won their away game by two goals to nil against Leeds United to stretch their lead at the top of the Championship table to five points.

In the Italian Serie A, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu and his Udinese team lost by two goals to one at home to Napoli. The Ghanaian player started and played in the full duration of the game.

Ghanaian midfielder Kwadwo Asamoah made an injury return to play in the full duration of Juventus’ win against Pescara in the Serie A. The Ghanaian was instrumental as the Italian Seerie A champions won by three goals to nil.

Claud Adjapong made a substitute appearance for Sassuolo who lost their away game at Samdoria by three goals to two.

Godfred Donsah did not play a part for Bologna in their 3-1 win against Palermo in the Italian Serie A. The Ghanaian was named on the bench for the game.

Isaac Cofie was also an unused substitute for Genoa who lost their away game to Lazio by three goals to one.

In the Spanish La Liga, Thomas Partey was not named in the Atletico Madrid squad who faced Real Madrid in the derby.

Real won the game by three goals to nil with Cristiano Ronaldo scoring a hat trick.

Kevin-Prince Boateng was in action on Friday for his Las Palmas team as they lost by 2-0 to Real Betis. The Ghanaian midfielder started and played in the full duration of the away game for Las Palmas.

In Germany, Ghanaian defender Abdul Baba Rahman made a cameo for Shalke 04 who won their away game to Wolfsburg by a single goal to nil.

In France, Abdul Majeed Waris played the full Ligue 1 game for FC Lorient who lost at home to Monaco by three goals to nil.

Frank Achemapong made a substitute appearance for Anderlecht in the Belgium Pro League on Sunday. The Ghanaian and his team lost by three goals to two against Zulte-Waregem.
