For many coaches the January transfer window is so crucial that it could make or unmake the season of a club. But for players – especially fringe players – it presents the opportunity to join clubs that could offer much playing time.
Some Ghanaian players were on the move in the January transfer window.

Jeffrey Schlupp
English-born Ghana international Jeffrey Schlupp sealed a £12.5 million move from champions Leicester City to fellow topflight side Crystal Palace.
After numerous speculations surrounding the left-back, he finally completed a move to Sam Allardyce’s side during the January window.
Sulley Muntari
Former AC Milan and Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Ali Muntari made his much-awaited return to the Serie A when he joined Pescara on free transfer.

It was mooted that the Ghanaian was also being courted by Torino, however, it was Pescara who won the race for his signature during the January transfer window.
Jordan Ayew
Ghanaian striker Jordan Ayew has followed the footsteps of his older brother – Andre Ayew – to join Swansea City. He joined the Premier League side on a three and half year deal from Championship outfit Aston Villa at an undisclosed fee.
Mubarak Wakaso
Ghana international Mubarak Wakaso has also completed a move to Spanish club Granada. The former Panathinaikos star is currently at the Africa Cup of Nations with Ghana, but has secured a move to the La Liga with Granada.

Daniel Opare
Ghanaian right-back Daniel Opare took his chances in the January transfer to complete a move to French Ligue 1 side RC Lens. The former U20 World Cup winner is looking to gain enough playing time, and the move comes after several failed stints across Europe.
Ebenezer Ofori
German second-tier side VfB Stuggart captured the services of the former U20 star in the just-closed January window. Ebenezer Ofori signed a three-year deal with the Bundesliga 2 outfit after leaving Swedish club AIK Stockholm.
Latif Blessing
20-year-old playmaker Latif Blessing was the subject of many offers from both local and foreign clubs. However, the former Liberty Professionals star successfully completed a move to Major League Soccer side Sporting Kansas City for an undisclosed fee.
Jonathan Mensah
Ghanaian defender Jonathan Mensah was also on the move during the winter transfer window. The former Bastia defender moved from Anzhi Makhachkala to Major League Soccer side Columbus Crew for an undisclosed fee.
Mahatma Otoo
Former Hearts of Oak striker Mahatma Otoo landed a mover to Turkish Superlig side Umraniyespor. The striker joined from Norwegian side Sognal, having spent three years in the Norwegian league.

Raphael Dwamena
Ghana striker Raphael Dwamena completed a move to Swiss Super League side FC Zurich from Austria Lustenau. The striker scored 22 goals last season in the Austrian second-tier, prompting a FC Zurich to make a move for him in the January transfer window.
Alhassan Wakaso
Mubarak Wakaso’s brother Alhassan Wakaso made a move from Portuguese club Rio Ave to join Abdul Majeed Waris at French Ligue 1 club FC Lorient.
The 25-year-old signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the club in France.
