LEGENDARY Scottish broadcaster, Hazel Irvine, has been confirmed as the main attraction for Quarriers’ inaugural Ladies’ Lunch on Sunday 1 March.
Following the success of its popular Noel Lunch, which passed the £1m fundraising mark in December, Quarriers, one of Scotland’s largest social care charities, is expanding its social calendar and will host its newest event at the luxurious Grand Central Hotel in Glasgow.
Before Hazel takes to the stage, guests will enjoy champagne on arrival, a delicious two-course lunch in the hotel’s stunning Grand Ballroom, complimentary goody bags and the opportunity to win some exciting prizes. To make the day extra special, cosmetic specialist, Kiehl’s, will be pampering guests with beauty samples and hand massages while fashion house, LK Bennett, will be offering style advice and running an exclusive catwalk show including all the latest designs.
All money raised from the event will go towards the life changing services provided for the thousands of people supported by Quarriers each and every day.
The charity’s services support adults and children with disabilities, young people facing homelessness, families struggling in poverty, unpaid carers and people affected by epilepsy.
Speaking ahead of the event, BBC Sport broadcaster and renowned after-dinner speaker, Hazel, said: “I’m delighted to host Quarriers’ first every Ladies’ Lunch and I’m sure everyone attending will have a great day.
“We look forward to welcoming ladies from Glasgow and beyond – all coming together to raise funds for a fantastic cause.”
Commenting on the charity’s newest fundraiser, Quarriers’ head of Corporate Development, Events & Community Fundraising, and Fiona Scott, said: “We’ve had a strong calendar of events over the last few years and there have been a number of successes, particularly the renowned Noel Lunch.
“We were always keen to put on a Ladies Lunch but wanted to make sure we delivered the best possible event. Therefore a lot of planning has gone into the inaugural Lunch and we’re thrilled to have Hazel joining us for what will be a brilliant day.”
