You ready for more of the FingerPaints “A Pair Affair” collection I created for Sally Beauty? I thought so! FingerPaints Sarong So Right and You Yacht To Know Better are a nod to my boater roots. Not only is blue and coral a classic pairing but they have a very seaside feel.

I put my twist on a traditional color duo by smoking out the blue and adding some playful holographic glitter to the jelly-based coral. This pairing combines old and new and Yacht is seriously one of the most beautiful blue polishes I’ve ever seen. Call it a #humblebrag but I can’t get over how much I love this collection.

Formula & Application: FingerPaints is 5-Free and produced exclusively for Sally Beauty. The FingerPaints bottle is unique in that it’s kind of an oblong shape (remember The Oblongs) with a long, slender, slightly taped cap. The brush is long, thin and flexible. It reminds me of the old OPI brush which is probably why so many of us speculated that OPI made FingerPaints back in the day.

These polishes are both very different in terms of opacity, texture and finish so I will address application individually.

FingerPaints Sarong So Right is a punchy coral jelly with holographic, scattered glitter. It photographs more muted than it is and you can’t really see its holographic nature in this pic, but it’s there.

Unlike traditional jellies, this packs a lot of pigment but that comes with a slightly thicker viscosity. It applies smoothly and self levels but it’s not watery like you would think of with jelly polishes. Due to the glitter, you get a bit of texture but top coat wipes it out. I used two coats on two nails but needed a third on my ring finger to get it completely opaque.

FingerPaints You Yacht To Know Better is a stormy blue shimmer packed with bright blue glitter that peeks out from the mist like twinkling stars. The texture is really creamy going on the nail. Buttery if you will. It packs a ton of pigment so you only need two coats. Again, due to the glitter, it has a bit of texture without top coat.

Worn together they make for one nauti combo.

My favorite way to wear the pair, in regards to nail art, is a Chevron Manicure. I simply used a piece of blue painter’s tape at the cuticle line, over Sarong, to create the chevron shape and then polished over with Yacht. Easy peasy! Just make sure your base color is completely dry.
