Jon Merrill:
Merrill is still injured and there is no news on when he may return yet. He has officially been out for six weeks (the minimum expected recovery time), so hopefully he will get back on the ice soon.

Blake Coleman:
Coleman had another quiet weekend - he didn't find the back of the net once but did have six shots in two games. He also got a penalty for interference.

Curtis Gedig:
Ohio State went 2-0 against Northern Michigan last weekend. Gedig had four shots and got a penalty for cross-checking.

In the CCHA, Miami is ranked first while Ohio State takes fifth and Michigan takes ninth. Michigan is still looking for it's identity on the blue line - hopefully Merrill will return soon and fill-in where they need it most.

Pietila had another successful weekend scoring two goals for Michigan Tech on six shots. His second goal of the series was the overtime winner for the Huskies.
You can check out the highlights from the OT win here.

The entire team was solid going 2-0 against Bimidji State with a come from behind win and the overtime win. Pietila currently leads the Huskies with seven goals in ten games.

Derek Rodwell:
Rodwell has yet to score this season but he did get a double minor against Minnesota Deluth for roughing.

Seth Helgeson:
Helgeson got his second point of the season with an assist in a 3-1 win over Joe Faust and the University of Wisconsin. He also received roughing penalties twice in a 2-2 tie the previous night.

Joe Faust:
Faust got two roughing penalties against the University of Minnesota on Saturday night (not in the same altercations as Helgeson, though).

In the WCHA, Minnesota holds the number two ranks while UND has fifth, Michigan Tech comes in at seventh and Wisconsin is eighth.

Blake Pietila is the obvious standout from this week. With two goals - one being an overtime winner, he has been exciting to watch. He has been a consistent threat for the Huskies so far this season.

That's it for this week's college roundup. What do you think of the men so far this season? Who do you find is the most exciting to follow? Feel free to sound off below!
