South Pasadena police searching for missing girl (San Gabriel Valley Tribune)
South Pasadena police are asking for help finding a missing teenage girl who disappeared Tuesday. Kaitlyn Walker, 15, texted her parents saying she didn't want to live anymore before she went missing around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday from South Pasadena High School. Police have traced her cell phone but are not able to locate the missing girl. Walker is white, has blonde hair and blue eyes, is 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighs about 130 pounds. She was last seen wearing an orange top, black jeans, and gray-and-black Vans tennis shoes. Anyone with information is asked to call South Pasadena police at 626-403-7297.
San Gabriel City Council votes not to seat Councilman-elect Chin Ho Liao (Pasadena Star-News)
San Gabriel City Council voted not to seat Councilman-elect Chin Ho Liao and directed staff to prepare a public hearing regarding Liao's residence. The move was a response to a complaint from a resident that Liao did not live in the San Gabriel apartment he listed on his voter registration, but instead in a home outside of the city. Council also heard a report regarding 10 complaints alleging poll workers were telling voters for whom to vote on the March 5 municipal election.
Man and woman killed in 10 Freeway motorcycle crash in Monterey Park (San Gabriel Valley Tribune)
A man and women were killed Tuesday in a motorcycle crash on the 10 Freeway in Monterey Park. The victims, both 20 years old, were riding a motorcycle and tried to pass up a tractor trailer. They lost control at a curve, were ejected from the motorcycle, and were hit by a big rig. California Highway Patrol says the truck driver may be unaware of the accident. Trio of meth thieves caught in South Pasadena (Pasadena Star-News)
Three people were arrested Tuesday after officers found methamphetamine and stolen UPS packages in their vehicle. South Pasadena police had been looking into reports of stolen packages from doorsteps and the trio matched descriptions of the suspects. All three suspects are in custody.
