We’ve been nominated for Blogpaws Nose-to-Nose Award
Oh my dog I can’t believe what just happened. Alfie’s Blog has been nominated and we’re among the finalists for Blogpaws prestigious Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Awards along with three other pet blogs in the ‘Best Pet Blog Design’ Category! I’m so excited I feel like we’ve just won an Oscar!
Nearly Drove off the Road
Let me tell you how I found out about our nomination. On Friday afternoon we were on our way to Lake Tahoe where we had rented a cottage for the weekend. My husband was driving the car, and I was checking my Facebook updates on my phone as we approached the mountains. I spotted that Blogpaws had posted the 2014 nominees, and because I was curious to see who was going to the Vegas Awards Ceremony, I clicked to read their entire blogpost. I screeched with delight when I saw Alfie’s Blog amongst the nominees – and startled my poor husband enough to nearly send us off the road.
Then we drove further into the Lake Tahoo wilderness and an agonising 24 hours of no internet connection followed until I could log onto some shaky wifi nearby and double and treble check that we had in fact been nominated and they hadn’t found another Alfie’s Blog!
So what is this Nose-to-Nose Awards anyway?
In case you haven’t heard of the awards its a pretty big deal. At least if you are a pet blogger. Its like the Oscars, but better because you can bring your dog along the red carpet for the awards ceremony. And the very best thing is that all the nominees for the different categories will be there because their readers wanted them to be recognised and took time out of their day to nominate them. So from the bottom of my heart – thank you so much! Alfie has been wagging his tail a little extra the whole weekend.
Some of my favourite pet blogs have been nominated too, so its a great honour to be included in such pawsome company – you can read about all the nominations here. As you can imagine I’m so incredibly thrilled and excited to be included in such pawsome company. Little did I know that drawing Alfie’s cartoons and re-designing Alfie’s Blog in December would take me to a red carpet awards ceremony in Vegas!
