Permaculture is a pathway towards creating an artful future where humanity and nature live in harmony. By taking care of our needs using efficient, effective and ethical design strategies, we can save time, energy and money while having more freedom to be creative.

Nature has an operating system which allows it to be regenerative, taking care of its needs using the energy and resources of the earth, sun, moon, and galaxy. Left to its own designs, nature is able to create a healthier and more diverse ecosystem on its own without any support from humanity. By studying the design principles of nature, we can use ecological literacy to help us create healthy and abundant farms, gardens, wild spaces and even ethical social and economic systems.

Delvin has been taking advanced permaculture design courses where he helps generate free open source media including learning tools and micro-videos.

Since 2011 Delvin has been teaching permaculture design at the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors. With support from a growing team of visionary designers, he has been mapping the CoSM land and cultivating a conscious awareness and intentional relationship with the plants, animals and insects in the ecological community there.

There are a number of upcoming opportunities to learn with Delvin and be a part of the permaculture program at CoSM. Each season there is a one day workshop. The spring brings an intro to permaculture, summer is on food forestry and gardening, the autumn on soil and composting and the winter on urban and social permaculture.

The next offering happens October 23 and delves into the Alchemy of Soil and Composting. Mark your calendars and see the link to register!

CoSM also offers the full year long Permaculture Design Certification Course starting on the 18th of October.

We will gather at CoSM every two months for two days in all four seasons to learn permaculture and earn a resume boosting sustainability certification. There are readings, written work and a year long process of mapping and designing a garden, landscape or project. Together we will contribute to the mapping and design of CoSM. See the link for details.
