'Holy Motors', the big winner at Sitges 2012

The game of masks in Holy Motors, the latest film by the unclassifiable Leos Carax, won the awards for best in competition fantastic feature film and best director, as announced this afternoon at a press conference by Festival Director Ángel Sala. The film also picked up the José Luis Guarner critics’ Award. Alice Lowe, the lead actress in the black comedy Sightseers, by Ben Wheatley, won the award for Best Actress, while the psychopath from Chained, Vincent D'Onofrio, was the winner in the male category. Jennifer Lynch’s film was awarded the Special Jury Prize and Wheatley’s picked up the award for best screenplay. The Asian Films Viral Factor and Headshot obtained, respectively, the awards for best special effects and best cinematography.
