Since we live in Texas, BBQ places are all over. But some aren't that great, sadly. It took a while to find one that we truly enjoyed. I only discovered it thanks to a friend who raved about it. Now, it's about an hour from our house but sometimes? You have to drive further than you'd prefer for the good stuff.
Behold Cooper's Old Time Pie Bar-B-Que:
Located in New Braunfels, Texas, Cooper's BBQ is a fantastic spot in 2008.
They have an impressive list of meats:
There are usually daily specials:
(That roasted corn on the cob is tasty! I highly recommend it!)
What do I usually get? Brisket. Brisket is a MUST! It's the best brisket I've ever had so far.
The ribs are also amazing. You can get sauce to dip it in, plus beans complimentary.
My daughter enjoys the mac & cheese. The cole slaw and potato salad are also winners!
As I said, you can get the beans and the sauce at no charge. There are also pickles and onions:
The sauce is amazing to dip the meat in:
There is also bread so trust me, you won't go hungry here.
One of my favorite things is that there are COKE products! I am never happy when I see PEPSI products. Unless Diet Dr. Pepper is included, which isn't always the case.
Don't work Big Red fans: they have that as well at another machine. Plus sweet and unsweet tea.
There are also homemade cobblers for dessert. There's usually always apple, which I normally get. I have also tried the peach and the blueberry cobblers. Also incredible. You just can't go wrong with cobbler.
If you're ever in the New Braunfels area, you must stop by Cooper's Old Time Pit Bar-B-Que. Or if you're like us, drive the hour. It's worth it. It's open 7 days a week! Plus you'll be near Buc-ees, so you can stop in there as well. (Confused? Read what Buc-ees is here.)
So do you love BBQ?
