Last Year’s National Champion, Jeremy Cupp, takes Freestyle Win in Washington, DC
The J&P Cycles Ultimate Builder Custom Bike Show is the nation’s largest motorcycle builder competition series featuring more than 350 motorcycles and the talents of dozens of local builders at each of the 7 Progressive International Motorcycle Shows (IMS). These elite-level, custom motorcycle creations will compete for cash and product prizes on the IMS Tour, including the Championship Round in Chicago.
Class Winners
Jeremy Cupp’s “LC Speedster” Sportster won 1st place in the FreeStyle Class at the 2017 DC Ultimate Builder Bike Show.
Robert Kelly’s 1968 Stroker Shovelhead won 2nd in the FreeStyle Class at the 2017 DC Ultimate Builder Bike Show.
Freestyle Class
Jeremy Cupp of LC Fabrications entered his custom Sportster called LC Speedster and came away with the win with stiff competition coming from Robert Kelly’s custom Shovelhead chopper.

Modified Harley Class presented by Harley-Davidson
Ross Latimer’s personal bike is a 2002 Harley-Davidson Sportster named Rats Hot Wheels and it took 1st place in MOD Harley. It features a Layer Custom Candy teal/ Hot Wheels paint scheme with a 1250cc Hammer Performance motor that makes 110+horsepower.

Ben Davis of Legion Cycle Works rolled in his sano1979 Honda CB750 and rolled out with a win. The sled features handmade fairings, GSXR1000 front end and mono shock conversion.

Modified Custom Class
Sean Skinner of Motorelic built the custom for Sasha Valentine. The design cues came from enthusiasts’ decision from www.caferacerxxx.com Instagram page. The bike started out as a 2014 Royal Enfield Continental GT.

Category Winners
Best Paint was awarded to Kelvin Dudenhoeffer for Evil Crusader, a 2014 Harley-Davidson Street Glide. Paint by Sinthium Custom Motorcycle Paint.
The People’s Choice recipient was Robert Kelly with his 1968 Stroker Shovelhead. He won a Custom 500 lid from Bell Helmets and $100 gift certificate from J&P Cycles.
Hank Thibodeau of Widowmaker CDR took the Ingenuity Award for Mushu Suzie, a custom 1983 Kawasaki GPZ750. It features a 6″ under wide glide leaf spring front end, a one-off headlight, bars, dual ram air intake, rear mounted gas tank and a 13″ seat height.
The Originality Award went to Casey Harrington for his Prince tribute called Purple Rain. The bike is a 1981 HondaCM400A.
K&N Award Winner is Ross Latimer with his 2002 Harley-Davidson Softail.
SHO DOG is awarded to the individual that works the show to promote their business and the custom bike industry. Roy Chamberlain of C&C Cycles won The Leatherworks solo chopper bag for his efforts.
