Welcome back to all of you that enjoyed an extended weekend! We had a great 3 day stretch, allowing us to spend time with friends and still get things done. Basically my dream weekend.

Friday was super low key and consisted of David and me just sitting on the back porch under a blanket sipping whiskey and chatting. It sounds hard core, but I’m far enough removed from the smell of college game day bourbon that I actually enjoy the good stuff on ice. We have the giant ice cube molds so that adds to the fun.

On Saturday Hailey had birthday tea party to attend and it was SO cute.

Everyone was told to wear a fancy dress, then they provided hats and gloves for all the girls (and a top hat and bow tie for the little boy!). The older siblings were in dresses and suits to help serve food and there was a teapot pinata to top things off. ADORABLE.

After the tea party, we had some friends over for the official kick-off to college football season!

We lucked out with fantastic weather, which made me really glad David knew how to hook up our TV in the backyard.

I love that the girls know how to call the dawgs and we celebrated Kirby Smart’s first UGA victory over UNC with burgers on the grill!

I’m currently on a jalapenos on everything kick.

The evening was ideal for s’mores so we couldn’t resist.

It was a late night for the girls, but with friends, fall weather, and football, the fight to get everyone into bed at the end of the night was well worth it.

Sunday we fit in a family bike ride, but spent much of the day bumming around, which revved my engine for a productive Monday.

I felt the sudden need to purge and scrub our fridge, which quite honestly gave me quite a high. That added on to getting through all the laundry, putting our office back together (we got built-ins!), and picking up some new groceries, it felt like Christmas.

You beautiful sparkly fridge, you!

In fear of doing Labor Day completely wrong, we did grill up some dinner.

Don’t leave me quite yet heirloom tomatoes.

Today Kaitlyn starts preschool, which means it is my first solo morning with Hailey. We are all so excited about the switch up in our schedules (or lack there of) and all in all, are really looking forward to all that September is bringing our way. The craziness isn’t quite over yet!

How was your send off to summer weekend?

Are you into college football? Who is your team?

I was thrilled that both mine (UGA!) and David’s (Georgia Tech) teams won their first games! A cherry on top on a wonderful weekend.
