AGO has gained so many new readers over the past year, so I thought it would be a good idea to do a post where I kind of reintroduce myself. I haven't done one of those personal, "get to know me" tags in a long time. After searching around Pinterest for a bit, I found a bunch of interesting questions that were a little more exciting than "what's your favorite color" (it's pink, btw), so I'm just going to answer all of them and you guys can answer them in the comments if you want to as well.
Who is your hero? My mom
If you could live anywhere, where would it be? Brighton, England
What is your biggest fear? Vomiting, but flying is a close second
What is your favorite family vacation? Galveston, TX every summer when I was growing up
What would you change about yourself if you could? I'd love to be a bit taller
What really makes you angry? When people are cruel to animals
What motivates you to work hard? Proverbs 31:10-31
What is your favorite thing about your career? Getting to do what I love and be my own boss every day
What is your biggest complaint about your job? Not having a stable paycheck each week
What is your proudest accomplishment? Being able to quick my day job and work for myself full time
What is your child's proudest accomplishment? No kiddos yet! :)
What is your favorite book to read? The Bible for motivation, Dangerous Angels for entertainment
What makes you laugh the most? GassyMexican
What was the last movie you went to? What did you think? It's been forever since I've been to the movies, I think the last thing I saw was Jurassic Park 3 (and it was amazing!)
What did you want to be when you were small? A journalist or artist
What does your child want to be when he/she grows up? Again, no kids just yet
If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be? Visit a city I've never been to and spend the whole day exploring
What is your favorite game or sport to watch and play? I love watching hockey, soccer, and Nascar, and my favorite sport to play is volleyball
Would you rather ride a bike, ride a horse, or drive a car? Ride a bike or moped
What would you sing at Karaoke night? Same Old Love by Selena Gomez or something by the Spice Girls
What two radio stations do you listen to in the car the most? 88.3 The Wind & Power 96.5
Which would you rather do: wash dishes, mow the lawn, clean the bathroom, or vacuum the house? I love vacuuming!
If you could hire someone to help you, would it be with cleaning, cooking, or yard work? I actually love cooking, so it would have to be with cleaning (but I would still want to vacuum, haha)
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? Logically, I'd have to pick something healthy and well-rounded so I wouldn't die....but I'd really want to pick orange chicken, fried rice, and crab rangoons :)

Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? Technically my name is Amanda, so "Mandy" is a nickname, but I've also been called Manders, Meeps, and Pants in the past
Do you like or dislike surprises? Why or why not? I love surprises! They make life more interesting :)
In the evening, would you rather play a game, visit a relative, watch a movie, or read? Video games for life
Would you rather vacation in Hawaii or Alaska, and why? Hawaii! I love sunny weather and beaches, plus I've always wanted to go
Would you rather win the lottery or work at the perfect job? And why? I'm a workaholic, so even if I won the lottery I would still work and stay busy
Who would you want to be stranded with on a deserted island? Bear Grylls....or Tom Hiddleston ;)
If money was no object, what would you do all day? I'd still be blogging every day, but I'd also want to travel more and experiencing everything on my bucket list
If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to? I would've loved to have lived in the 1950s and 60s, but I'd also love to live through the 90s again
How would your friends describe you? I think they'd say I'm cheerful and funny
What are your hobbies? Photography, reading, playing video games, decorating my apartment, weaving, crocheting, painting
What is the best gift you have been given? My great-grandma's brooches and my grandma's quilting patterns
What is the worst gift you have received? My dad once got me a can of squid pieces as a gag gift...definitely gagged
Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without? My phone, I don't go anywhere without it

Where do you see yourself in five years? I'd like to still be blogging and creating every day, as well as writing books and teaching classes to help others. I'd also like to be married and own my own home by then.
How many pairs of shoes do you own? More than 10 but less than 20
If you were a super-hero, what powers would you have? I'd either want to be able to go invisible or be a shapeshifter
What would you do if you won the lottery? I'd buy my parents a brand new home, send money to all of my family members, and donate to all of my favorite charities and my church
What form of public transportation do you prefer? (air, boat, train, bus, car, etc.) Train or car
What's your favorite zoo animal? The otters and giraffes
If you could go back in time to change one thing, what would it be? I would've moved out ages ago. I used to be so afraid of living on my own because of my panic disorder, but having my own place has been such a blast.
If you could share a meal with any 4 individuals, living or dead, who would they be? Jesus, Simon Peter, Audrey Hepburn, and Charlotte Gambill
How many pillows do you sleep with? 3 or 4
What's the longest you've gone without sleep (and why)? I think around 28 hours when I graduated high school - all of the seniors had an all-night lock in at the YMCA to celebrate
What's the tallest building you've been to the top in? I honestly have no idea. I have a bit of a fear of heights, so I tend to avoid tall buildings.
Would you rather trade intelligence for looks or looks for intelligence? Ideally I'd like a bit of both, but if I had to pick one, I'd pick intelligence
How often do you buy clothes? I usually pick up a couple new pieces each month or two
Have you ever had a secret admirer? Yes, once in middle school. It did not end well.
What's your favorite holiday? I absolutely adore Christmas, but Halloween is super fun too
What's the most daring thing you've ever done? Kissed a stranger in Paris
What was the last thing you recorded on TV? Real Housewives of The OC
What was the last book you read? I'm currently reading Growing Up Duggar
What's your favorite type of foreign food? Chinese food...so good
Are you a clean or messy person? I'm a fairly clean person but I definitely have my messy days
Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life? Christina Ricci, Lizzy Caplan, or Zooey Deschanel
How long does it take you to get ready in the morning? 30 minutes to a little over an hour, depending on what I'm doing that day
What kitchen appliance do you use every day? My Brita water pitcher
What's your favorite fast food chain? Chick-fil-A
What's your favorite family recipe? My dad's cheese and onion enchiladas
Do you love or hate rollercoasters? I've never been on one but I get motion sick easily, so they're a big no-no for me
What's your favorite family tradition? Meeting up on Sundays to watch Nascar and have a big family dinner
What is your favorite childhood memory? Spending summers with my family in Galveston - hanging out on the beach and going shopping on the pier
What's your favorite movie? Amelie and The Princess Bride
How old were you when you learned Santa wasn't real? How did you find out? I think I was in 3rd or 4th grade. One of my friends told me he wasn't real and I was crushed.
Is your glass half full or half empty? Half full most days! :)
What's the craziest thing you’ve done in the name of love? I'm still waiting to fall in love, so I'll have to get back to you on this one
What three items would you take with you on a deserted island? My phone, a pot, and a machete (guess who's been marathoning Naked & Afraid?)

What's the most unusual thing you've ever eaten? Alligator

Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion? Pretty much every outfit from Clueless
Are you an introvert or an extrovert? Definitely an introvert but I'm getting better at coming out of my shell
Which of the five senses would you say is your strongest? Smell
Have you ever had a surprise party? (that was an actual surprise) Yes! My family all got together and had a surprise party for my birthday when I turned 7 or 8.
Are you related or distantly related to anyone famous? I'm distantly related to Davey Crockett on my mom's side
What do you do to keep fit? I really enjoy taking walks, playing volleyball, and doing yoga/pilates. I also try to take part in fun activities that will get me up and moving, like bring a door greeter at my church.
Does your family have a “motto” – spoken or unspoken? I wish we did, but I can't think of one at the moment
If you were ruler of your own country what would be the first law you would introduce? "Treat others how you want to be treated"
Who was your favorite teacher in school and why? My choir teach, Mr. Hawkins. He always had the best quotes, like "chase your dreams or they'll chase you".
What three things do you think of the most each day? My blog, my family, and my faith

What celebrity would you like to meet at Starbucks for a cup of coffee? Gordon Ramsey (I'd like to pick his brain about making risotto at home)

What's the most interesting thing you can see out of your office or kitchen window? A bunch of trees and flower bushes
On a scale of 1-10 how funny would you say you are? A solid 8
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Raising a family while growing my brand
What was your first job? I bussed table at Fuddruckers for two weeks
If you could join any past or current music group which would you want to join? THE SPICE GIRLS!
How many languages do you speak? Just English, but I know a few words of Spanish and French
What is your favorite family holiday tradition? Opening a present on Christmas Eve, and then going out light looking and getting hot chocolate
Who is the most intelligent person you know? My dad. I can ask him a question about anything and he'll know the answer.
If you had to describe yourself as an animal, which one would it be? A fox
What is one thing you will never do again? Drink 3 Starbucks coffees before getting on a 7 hour flight to Ireland
