High-production cone

KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens showcase the Kodiak Plus K500+, a new 500-horsepower, remote-adjust cone crusher. The unit is the latest addition to the Kodiak Plus Cone Crusher family and fills a demand for larger secondary and tertiary cone crushers that are used by high-production aggregate producers and mining companies. Some of the refinements implemented into the Kodiak Plus product line include a new hybrid cast/fabricated base frame design, the ‘MILO’ automated control system, a new patented liner retention system, a patented thread locking ring, and an anti-spin cone brake.

Railcar weighing system

Schenk Process introduces LegalWeight, a system that weighs railcars in motion. The design uses instrumented concrete weighing ties equipped with precision load cells that measure vertical force. Integrated into the existing rail without any gaps or joins in the rail, it can operate legal-for-trade at speeds up to 14 mph. Installation of the system is done without a pit and is mounted directly on top of the ballast to reduce overall installation time to less than two days for most applications.

Performance tire for high-scrub applications

Bridgestone Commercial Solutions rolls out a new edition of its Ecopia product line. The R268 all-position radial, designed for pickup trucks, is said to provide tire performance that stands up to high-scrub environments while also offering fuel efficiency advantages. Its tread design and protective features are purpose designed to extend tire life. A wave channel design reduces groove bottom strain to combat the initiation and spread of irregular wear, while ribs are proportioned for added stiffness to help reduce irregular wear throughout the footprint. The addition of a NanoPro-Tech compound limits energy loss for improved rolling resistance and optimum fuel efficiency, while a high-scrub tread compound enhances resistance to tread scrubbing.

Ceramic pulley lagging prevents slippage

Flexco introduces its new Flex-Lag Medium Ceramic Pulley Lagging. The pulley lagging features 39-percent tile coverage, and complements its Full Ceramic and Diamond Ceramic lines. It can be used in dry, wet, or muddy applications where slippage can occur. Horizontal grooves in the lagging trap and deflect water and debris, while the molded ceramic buttons grip the belt’s underside for positive traction and no slippage. It is available in widths ranging from 35 to 101 inches to match pulley face widths or 18 to 84 inches to match belt widths. The lagging works with pulley diameters over 12.6 inches.

Third-party access

The Instantel Third Party Access for Series IV software application allows users to control, upload, and download data directly from Instantel Minimate Pro4 or Minimate Pro6 seismographs without using the Instantel Blastware Compliance Module. Event data can be exported into the XML, CSV, or ASCII file formats. Exported data can be further analyzed within a spreadsheet or leveraged using the Internet, automating the process of transferring vibration data directly from the Series IV unit to a website for viewing by approved stakeholders. The program also maintains the proprietary Instantel Event format and security features and the same functionality as the Blastware Compliance Module.

Cone boosts production capacities

In response to customer feedback, Terex Minerals Processing Systems (MPS) launches the new MC 1300 cone module to increase the application and production capabilities of its existing modular product range. The modular product line consists of several pre-designed and semi-static crushing and screening “plug-and-play” modules. Each module bolts together on site and requires minimal on-site wiring. The MC 1300 cone module features the Terex TC 1300 cone crusher, which is powered by a 225 kW electric motor. An unrestricted feed opening and a full range of configurations for short and long throw give the unit versatility, while the all roller bearing design improves crushing efficiency. Additional features include hydraulically adjustable closed-side setting, easy manganese changes, and a weather-protected control panel with user-friendly controls. The module includes an extra heavy-duty I-beam frame and a galvanized steel structure including walkways, steps, and guardrails.

High-frequency industrial sand screen

KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens introduces a new high-frequency screen designed for the industrial sands market. Engineered to be a versatile unit, the high-frequency screen is designed to operate in numerous markets, including fractionated reclaimed asphalt pavement (FRAP), wood pelleting, and now industrial sands. The unit is a 5-foot-wide by 12-foot-long screen specifically designed for dry screening fine materials in an efficient and cost-effective manner. It is fully sealed for dust, spillage, and collection, and has a broader range of operating angle than a conventional high-frequency screen, providing greater application flexibility and higher capacity for fine dry screening. It was designed for maximum stratification and increased probability of separation. The high-frequency screen allows for efficient cuts and separations of products, especially when the separations being made are fine.

Customized screening systems

KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens offers the new S9000 Dewatering Screen. Designed to reduce moisture content of washed sand and, ultimately, offer a more complete system, the unit is capable of reducing moisture content of washed sand down to as low as 8 to 15 percent. It is available in multiple sizes, ranging from 2-foot by 7-foot up to 8-foot by 16-foot. The screen’s 1/4-inch stroke operates at 1,200 rpm, providing high G force action to separate water from the material. It is equipped with urethane media, has an adjustable incline from 0 to 5 degrees, and can be packaged in portable, semi-portable, and stationary systems. According to the manufacturer, it offers customized systems designed to deliver the highest net return to its customers.
