McLanahan Corp. hosted its first Frac Sand Processing School in Eau Claire, Wis., on March 30. The day featured three sessions from McLanahan, including presentations on wet frac sand processing, water management, and plant and equipment maintenance. Each session focused on equipment that will maximize production and help ensure sites are meeting the tight requirements needed in frac sand specifications. Over 60 people, with job responsibilities ranging from plant maintenance to design engineers, attended the one-day event. McLanahan plans to host future frac sand schools, as well as schools on topics such as water management, throughout the country in coming months. The Volvo Group is sponsoring the Ocean Summit on Marine Debris during the Volvo Ocean Race stopover in Newport, R.I., in an effort to raise awareness about the global problem of marine debris. The summit will take place May 15.
