Breaker Technology Inc., booth C30332

The MBS12S rockbreaker system is for light-duty breaking on mobile crushing units. The rockbreaker operates a range of hydraulic breakers up to the 1,500 foot-pound class and pairs well with the CX4 and BX15 rockbreaker units. The track-plant ready interface connects to the plant’s main frame, as well as existing hydraulic and electrical systems. It works on both new and existing plants. The unit’s compact pedestal base is designed to provide a smaller footprint for installation in confined spaces and can reduce the overall weight effect on the crushing plant structure by up to 50 percent, compared to older models. The advanced control system features radio remote and joystick control. The control receiver is pre-programmed with performance enhanced swing and boom function ramps for greater stability and smooth operations.

Columbia Steel Casting Co., Inc., booth C30911

A new, patented cone mantle design is said to offer improved crusher output based on initial field trials, Columbia Steel Castings Co., Inc., reports. The mantle design focuses on consistently drawing material into the chamber to produce a higher volume of crushed product. It does not rely on gravity feed to fill the crushing chamber.

Deister Machine Co., booth C31227

The EMCO 360 Crusher Optimizer Feeder is the latest addition to Deister’s line of electromechanical vibrating feeders. Engineered to optimize cone crusher performance, it features a 360-degree discharge opening that distributes a homogeneous feed to cone crushers, keeping them chokefed for optimal efficiency, product consistency and improved production rates. They are available in a wide range of sizes and capacities.

Derrick Equipment, booth C-30042

The DE-7200 VFD centrifuge provides consistent and effective solids control in a wide range of drilling fluid types and conditions. The stainless steel bowl and conveyor has hardened and replaceable wear parts. With a maximum of 2,750 Gs at 3,000 rpm bowl speed, the unit separates fine solids from drilling fluids improving drilling fluid rheology and performance. The machine features a 60-horsepower conveyor drive motor with 70,806 inch-pounds gearbox torque, allowing it to maintain high feed rates.

DSC Dredge, LLC, booth C20523

Available in diesel or electric power, the DSC Shark Class cutter suction dredge features a conventional dredge-operating configuration with a modular design for ease of transportation. With standard discharge sizes ranging from 10 to 24 inches (and customizable up to 36 inches), the dredge is said to be well suited for sand and gravel producers and construction contractors. It features a PLC-based operating system, electro-proportional hydraulic circuits, high-capacity service water system, and an inline direct marine-style transmission for dredge pump reduction. An ergonomic, user-friendly control system simplifies operations. The dredge also features power up/down spud systems with API-rated winch drums for proper cable storage.
Booth activities: DSC Dredge will have its experts on hand to discuss customers’ specific dredging challenges, discover their unique stories, and offer customized dredging solutions.

Dyno Nobel, booth C31410

Dyno Nobel features its electronic initiation systems. Differential Energy, which matches energy to the different densities of the geology, is said to help reduce overbreak and flyrock, as well as improve highwall stability. DigiShot and DriftShot electronic initiation systems will also be on display.
Booth activities: A 3D demonstration of Differential Energy shows the matching of different densities to the geology of the ground. This is said to help reduce overbreak and generation of fines.
Other services on display: Value Improvement Process is designed to increase an operator’s value chain efficiency and reduce overall costs.

ESCO,  booth C-20505

The ESC SXDP Super Extreme Duty Plate Lip excavator bucket features an extreme duty wear package. This package includes double cast shrouds on each wing, cast corner wear shoes (heel bands), cast weld-on lip shrouds, chisel points for penetration and strength, and an AR400 horizontal wear kit and vertical wear pads.
Other equipment on display: The Flat-bottom HDP excavator bucket, general purpose bucket for wheel loaders, MaxDRP OEM replacement products, and Ultralok construction tooth system.

Irock Crushers, booth C33065

Irock highlights its RDS-20 Primary Crushing Plant. The RDS-20 is a rapid deployment system for high portability and quick set-up time. It combines a closed-circuit design, four-bar impactor, and heavy-duty components for efficient production of cubical stone. The machine features a 5- by 16-foot double-deck screen. It can crush, screen, and separate up to three different sizes of material, two sized and one crusher run, at up to 500 tons per hour. The initial vibrating feed opening is 52 inches by 17 feet, while the crusher feed opening is 56 by 32 inches. The closed-circuit design allows oversized material from both decks to return to the feeder for an additional pass through the crusher after an initial round of screening. The unit is powered by a 440-horsepower Cat C-13 Acert Tier 3 engine, with an option for a Tier 4 engine.

Kawasaki-KCM,  booth C-20527

KCM, the new brand for Kawasaki loaders, will debut two new compact loaders, along with new additions to the Tier 4 Final Z7 loader line, the 80Z7 T4F (shown) and the 95Z7 T4F. The 4.2-cubic-yard, 200-horsepower 80Z7 T4F has an operating weight of 38,910 pounds and uses the company’s IntelliTech Operating System, which adapts the powertrain and hydraulics to operating demands and working conditions. Advanced logic in the controller provides precise fuel acceleration without unnecessary fuel consumption. Transmission shift points, instead of being fixed, respond to the working and environment conditions to provide balance between speed and rimpull.
Booth activities: Attendees can experience an interactive 90Z7 Tier 4 wheel loader, which will showcase the company’s IntelliTech system. The company also will reveal a new brand and paint scheme.

Kleemann,  booth C31239

The Mobicone MCO 11 PRO crusher, featuring a robust design and high performance, will be shown for the first time in North America at ConExpo-Con/Agg. The diesel-electric-drive plant also can be operated using an external power source, and is said to offer low maintenance operation. The mobile cone crusher is suited for applications in hard and abrasive natural rock, and is predominantly used as a secondary crusher. When linked with other crushers and screens in the line, Kleemann says it increases productivity and profitability for aggregate producers.

KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens,  booth C30332

KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens highlights its assorted American-made product lines including crushing, screening, material handling, washing and classifying, track-mounted, stationary, and portable equipment. The booth will showcase a selection of equipment featuring its new hybrid technology on track equipment, components, and systems capability.

McLanahan Corp.,  booth C31027

Max Series Vibrating Screens can separate coarse feed materials from finer materials. Available in sizes ranging from 6-foot by 16-foot to 8-foot by 24-foot, the screens are a low headroom design engineered to fit into existing structures and operations with no rework. Side plates are fully bolted construction to reduce or eliminate crack propagation due to stress riser in the steel caused by welding and provide the ability to quickly replace worn components without cutting. The side plates feature cross beam inspection ports that allow producers to inspect inside tubes for failure when the tube is not visible due to abrasion resistant lining, eliminating the need for operators to crawl between decks for inspections. Independent cross members allow worn sections of the screen to be replaced individually without replacing the entire deck frame. A direct drive system eliminates the requirements for a pivoting motor base to ensure belt tension on start-up.

Metso will highlight product innovations and service capabilities that increase production, with an emphasis on new cone crusher technology, as well as Lokotrack mobile crushing and screening solutions. Products on display will include the Lokotrack LT1213S, a mobile impactor plant with screen that allows operators to produce final end products with one machine, and a Lokotrack ST2.8 mobile scalping screen. These mobile units are available with Metso’s Fleet Management technology, a remote machine-monitoring system that provides operators with critical data and can aid in lowering operating costs.

Kwikdeck is a new screen system that allows quick and easy conversion of a crowned deck of wire cloth to modular synthetic media with no modifications to the existing structure.
Booth activities: A “What If…” challenge allows booth visitors to submit ideas for products that will improve screening operations. Prizes will be given to all participants with the best prizes going to any idea accepted by the R&D team for possible development.

Stedman Machine Co.,  booth C30919

The Model H-54 multi-cage mill is designed for pulverizing, grinding, crushing, and mixing abrasive and non-abrasive materials – wet, sticky, or dry. The H-Series provides a finer, more uniform grind and can handle up to 240 tons per hour. The cage mills feature a quick-opening housing for quick inspection and maintenance. It allows for minimum downtime for wear part replacement and inspection. Each H-Series Impact Mill housing can accommodate two-, four-, or six-row cage assemblies. The operator can vary the number of pins in each row, to vary the rotational speed of each cage in relation to the other(s), and to change the relative direction of rotation of the cages. For wet material applications, air cannons are mounted at the intake and discharge to help prevent buildup of wet material. A hydraulically-operated, quick-opening retractor provides rapid access to crushing components for inspection or change out. The quick opening feature allows prescheduling of downtime for parts change out based on regular inspections.

The Patriot Cone Crusher Plant includes options such as Vantage Automation and Level Assist. Level Assist technology automatically levels the plant once it has reached the desired height, usually in less than five minutes. The automation system monitors all vital functions of the crusher, allowing it to maintain optimum production without operator intervention. The optional removable feed conveyor cartridge — with a roller track design for enhanced mobility — allows feeding to happen at any angle. The plant is available for the P200, P300 and P400 models of the cone crusher.

Telsmith,  booth C30322

Two new crushers will be introduced at the show — the H3450 Jaw Portable Plant (pictured) and the T500 Cone Crusher. The H3450 Hydra-Jaw crusher is an all-new jaw plant. The 40-inch by 50-inch opening is capable of processing up to 659 short tons per hour, while the hydraulic toggle is said to reduce maintenance and lower operating costs with fast, safe hydraulic chamber clearing and tramp iron overload relief with auto resets. The T500 is the newest model in the line-up of T-Series crushers, which are designed to deliver maximum uptime while minimizing maintenance costs. The 500-horsepower crusher contains a 14-inch maximum feed opening and is capable of processing between 314 and 854 short tons per hour. Features such as anti-spin and fewer cylinders provide reliability.
Booth activities: Interactive tables provide a glimpse inside the T500 Cone Crusher and H3450 Jaw Crusher.

Thunder Creek,  booth C22521

Thunder Creek says its Multi-tank Trailers are the first fuel and service trailers designed to legally transport bulk diesel on the road without requiring drivers to maintain a CDL or HAZMAT endorsement (local regulations may apply). This is accomplished by isolating diesel in four, six, or eight separate 115-gallon, DOT-compliant non-bulk tanks. Tanks are joined by a manifold to a common pump, creating complete isolation during transport and controlled dispensing of fuel at the site. Trailers are available in 460-, 690-, and 920-gallon capacities.

The Ultra Fines Recovery plant is designed for operators who use settling or tailing ponds by allowing them to turn waste material into a marketable, profitable product.

Xylem’s Godwin Field Smart Technology (FST) and Godwin PrimeGuard 2 controller provides mining personnel with pump operating data from a remote location, that can reduce or eliminate the need for onsite personnel to monitor pumps manually. Its PrimeGuard 2 is a fully programmable microprocessor engine control system that allows for inputs from flow meters, level transducers, pressure transducers, or standard floats. Using the data from any of these systems, Godwin Dri-Prime pumps can be programmed to start/stop automatically with no operator intervention required. Used in tandem with PrimeGuard 2, FST is a premium solution for any aggregates site. FST can monitor engine, motor, and pump operation conditions (e.g. operating hours, speed, engine temperature, and fuel consumption), as well as pump parameters such as suction and discharge pressure, sump level, and flow data.

The ALLU Transformer Series features a bucket that can be mounted on excavators or loaders. It screens, crushes, pulverizes, aerates, blends, mixes, separates, feeds, and loads material for a highly efficient processing stream.

Doosan Construction Equipment,  booth G-4876

Doosan Portable Products,  booth G-4476

The G25, G50, and G70 mobile generators feature a Tier 4 Final package with improved fuel efficiency, extended run times, and sound levels on the G25 reduced to 63 decibels. The units are equipped with Doosan-built engines, with the two smaller engines using diesel oxidation catalyst after-treatment and the largest engine using selective catalytic reduction. An optional 48-hour runtime solution is available on the G25 and G70 models.

Kespry,  booth G-71803

The Drone 2.0 is capable of 30-plus minutes of flight on a single battery, capturing 150 acres in a single flight; swappable batteries allow coverage over 500 acres. The drone can operate in sustained wind speeds of 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph and has an onboard LiDAR system to automatically avoid obstacles. The advanced drone system takes off, flies, and lands automatically without any human piloting. Onboard computers handle both flight control as well as obstacle avoidance and image processing.

The company’s 50,600-square-foot book will showcase more than 22 pieces of earthmoving, material handling, and construction equipment. On display will be X-Power wheel loaders, crawler loaders, crawler tractors, and excavators. The company also has an indoor South Hall booth at S-84230, featuring its line of mechanical, hydraulic, and electric drive and control components.

LiuGong,  booth G-3322

The Vertical Lift Wheel Loader uses vertical lift loader arms on an articulating frame, along with a mechanical self-leveling Z-bar bucket linkage on a vertical lift loader, which the company says are both industry firsts. LiuGong says the vertical lift accentuates the wheel loader’s primary function — lifting and carrying a load — by using a heavier tipping load and higher lift height than conventional loaders of the same weight class. It is designed to reduce fuel costs since the operating weight of the machine has been reduced, allowing more tons of material to be moved per horsepower than with a conventional radial lift machine.

Terex MPS re-launches the Simplicity brand of vibrating screens and highlights the CRC1150S portable closed circuit plant, which is built around a TC1150 Terex Cone Crusher and TSV6203 6-foot by 20-foot three-deck screen. Terex Finlay showcases its I-140 horizontal impact crusher.

XL Specialized Trailers,  booth G-2416

The XL 80 Power Tail trailer is designed to transport medium-duty construction equipment and uses a hydraulic fold-under flip tail ramp for quick loading and unloading. With a load angle of 10 degrees, the hydraulic tail can handle man lifts, rollers, forklifts, and paving equipment. The trailer is rated at 80,000 pounds overall and 50,000 pounds within 10 feet. The tail has a lifting capacity of 25,000 pounds for loads centered on the main platform and has two sections: and 8-foot 8-inch platform ramp and a 60-inch flip tail. Lug-style hinges prevent debris from accumulating. A hydraulic pop-up ramp connects the deck to the gooseneck, and there’s a foot hole and grab handle on each side of the gooseneck for climbing onto the deck.

NORTH HAL

Case Construction Equipment,  booth N-11825

The G Series Tier 4 Final wheel loader lineup from Case Construction Equipment includes seven new models ranging from 141 to 347 horsepower and sized from 2.1 to 6.25 cubic yards. The all-new operating environment features electro-hydraulic controls, using a solid-state controller that provides software control over electrical power distribution and basic vehicle functions, and thus eliminating fuses and relays and reducing the amount of wiring throughout the machine. A membrane keypad replaces a series of rocker switches for common machine functions. The loaders have three linkage options: Z-bar for breakout force and general operation, XR for extended reach, and XT for a parallel-lift configuration that handles palletized materials.

Caterpillar,  booth N-10924

The 390F and the 336F XE tracked excavators will be on display, with the technology on the 336F XE reducing fuel consumption by as much as 20 percent compared to a standard machine. Several excavators showcased will feature the Cat Grade Assist technology, which enables automated grade and slope control. (Caterpillar also has a Gold Lot booth, G-4490.)

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas, booth N-11603

An 8-inch interactive, adjustable touchscreen cluster-monitor is a standard feature on the Hyundai HX 260 excavator, part of the 10-model HX lineup. The monitor provides clear visibility to key gauges, work modes, service intervals, and the All Around View Monitoring system for 360-degree surround virtual operating view. Operators can maintain a constant view of the workplace from the front, rear, left, and right.

John Deere Construction & Forestry,  booth N-12525

John Deere’s display will include a variety of equipment models, including articulated dump trucks, backhoe loaders, dozers, excavators, motor graders, scraper systems, skid steers, wheel loaders, and attachments.
Booth activities: 10 a.m. daily opening program, technology-based educational sessions and interactive displays, including simulators.

Kobelco Construction Machinery USA,  booth N-10002

A total of 21 Kobelco excavators will be on display, including the 4.6-ton SK45SRX, which includes the iNDr+E cooling system. This incorporates the iNDr technology of large Kobelco excavators into an eco-friendly cooling system that reduces noise to 75 decibels. By using the S-mode on the excavator, users can reduce fuel consumption by 25 percent. The machine features the optional four-way blade that delivers a 23-degree left angle and a 25-degree right angle, giving additional control during clearing, grading, and backfilling.
Booth activities: Demonstrations and interactive stations, plus a patriotic-theme excavator.

Volvo Construction Equipment,  booth N-12525

Volvo Dig Assist allows excavator operators to set job parameters, such as target depth and grade, conduct in-field design, and view job progress in real time, ensuring the work meets exact specifications. Volvo calls ActiveCare Direct the “first telematics monitoring service offered at the OEM level and supported through the company’s dealer network.”

The CDE M5500 wash plant can produce up to 550 tons per hour of washed materials on a single chassis. It combines feeding, screening, and stockpiling. Unique features include a five-product capability and triple-pass cyclone sand washing.

Fairbanks Scales Inc.,  booth S5818

The Titan Series Portable Vehicle Scale is constructed with multiple 12-inch and 16-inch structural steel I-beams. The supports, coupled with a high deflection rating, are said to produce a rigid and durable portable weighbridge. The Titan is designed with an open bottom design to prevent moisture from being trapped and creating rust.

Flexco,   booth S5554

The PTEZ Belt Trainer features a ‘pivot and tilt’ feature that ensures the belt stays away from the structure and material stays on the belt without the use of sensor or edge rollers. The tapered ends on the roller drive the pivot-and-tilt mechanism, allowing the two forces to move the belt back to center. The belt trainer can be used on single-direction and reversing belts and works with vulcanized or mechanically fastened belts. It is available for belt widths from 18 to 48 inches, and can be mounted as a standard “pull-up” mounting or on the clean side of the return side of a cupped belt. Adjustable mounting brackets allow quick installation.

Haver & Boecker,  booth S5832

The Tyler brand of hooked engineered screen media offers a lower cost alternative for deck conversions. Tensioned screen media can be used on a cambered deck, eliminating the need for a deck conversion when switching from woven wire to polyurethane screen media. It also allows a combination of woven wire or self-cleaning screens to be used with the polyurethane media on cambered decks.

Sandstorm represents the first wash plant in McCloskey International’s new division: McCloskey Washing Systems. The modular chassis-mounted scalping unit is said to offer a cost-effective, durable machine in a modular, all-electric format.

A 30-foot by 11-foot Survivor ATV truck scale will be on display. Each scale is certified up to 16.5 feet wide, and the weighbridge is certified from 70,000 pounds up to 140,000 pounds Concentrated Load Capacity, depending on model.

The entire product line meets NEMA Premium Efficiency standards. Motors 100 horsepower and below are rated for 1.25 Service Factor, providing aggressive overload parameters when needed, while motors above 100 horsepower are rated for 1.15SF. The Crusher Duty Motors are also rated IP5, with severe-duty features to meet the demands of harsh operating environments.

HaulIt provides dispatching, quoting and billing tools designed specifically for the aggregate and asphalt industries. The LS-WIM Weigh-in-Motion Axle Scale Systems now feature an LS20 indicator that allows the scale to weigh axle by axle both statically and dynamically. The LS20 features an easy-to-read LCD display and keypad design that can be mounted where it allows drivers to enter and save 250 unique truck IDs, complete with tare weights, individual axle weights, and total gross weight. Internal memory stores up to 1,500 weigh records and the data can be exported via a USB drive or RS232 serial output.
