Theradome Laser Helmet: Big Leap Forward in Treating Thinning Hair at Home

In the Ultimate Anti-Aging Essentials You Can Buy, I wrote about the Theradome laser helmet.

If your hair is thinning, take a look at the Theradome for hair loss. It looks like a fancy bike helmet, so is more convenient to use than a laser comb or band.

The Theradome is brand new, so I haven’t written my review yet; but I’ve done the research. I’m very impressed. However I did experience sticker shock. The sporty looking Theradome costs $900.

In the 12 years I’ve been writing for Ageless Beauty, I’ve never before recommended a product before reviewing it. That’s how impressed I was by the concept of the Theradome laser helmet.

So, here is the complete review that I promised you.

Theradome Laser Helmet Use

The cordless hands-free Theradome laser helmet is very easy to use. Put it on. Press the button. Wait for the helmet to tell you the treatment is done. Yes, It actually talks to you.

The company recommends using the Theradome twice-a-week for 20 minutes in accordance with the clinical tests submitted for FDA approval. However they add that some of their patients use it every day with excellent results.

If you haven’t lost a lot of fullness yet, it’s best to don the helmet after towel-drying your hair when your hair lays nice and flat. The Theradome helmet has rubber pegs that part hair to ensure maximum exposure of your scalp.

Theradome Laser Helmet Specs

The Theradome laser helmet weighs slightly less than a pound, so it’s very comfortable to wear.

The product has a simple, one button operation which uses audio alerts to let you know:

When the battery is low,

How many treatments you’ve completed since you bought your Theradome,

How many minutes remain in a session, and

If your laser helmet is experiencing any technical issues.

The helmet size fits 98% of the population. People with smaller heads can use specially designed Theradome foam pads to ensure proper fit. The Theradome comes with a USB cable and AC adapter for recharging.

How Well the Theradome Laser Helmet Works

In Theradome’s clinical studies, which were submitted for FDA approval, all participants experienced one or more of the following:

Minimization and slowing down of hair loss;

Doubling of hair follicle size for existing hair; and/or

New growth of healthy hair.

You’ll see results as early as one month after beginning treatment and maximum results within six months to a year. Then you can reduce your treatment routine to once or twice a week for maintenance.

Laser hair therapy is similar to exercise — you have to integrate it into your lifestyle to continue enjoying the benefits.  As well, you can expect quicker and better results the earlier you start treating thinning hair.

Theradome Laser Helmet Safety

The Theradome was the first wearable device in the world to be FDA-cleared for home use. Interestingly, Theradome conducted their clinical trials on women. Isn’t that nice for a change?

There were no adverse events or reactions. The lasers used in the Theradome laser helmet are visible red and not intense enough to cause damage to the eyes. However they are quite bright. So the company designed the helmet to prevent the bright light from shining into the eyes.

While the Theradome has FDA clearance only for women, men are free to buy it as well. According to the company,

Many men also use our product and obtain great results, including our CEO.

Theradome is currently conducting further clinical trials with men for FDA submission.
